The recipe vs. the reality 😂🍳

We’ve recently started stocking this Shakshuka Paste, so obviously we had to put it to the test!

Now, full disclosure… I’m not very good at sticking to recipes 🙈 I added a tin of tomatoes and cooked mine in a deeper pan, so my eggs definitely didn’t come out looking quite as beautiful as the recipe photo.

But the taste? SO, SO GOOD. 🤤

It was incredibly easy to make and one £3.99 jar easily makes 3 portions (or 2 if you’ve got a particularly hungry person in the house!).

Even better, after picking up the peppers, onion, garlic, eggs and sourdough at The Refillery, I worked it out at just £3.74 per portion based on three servings.

I recently spotted Shakshuka on a café menu in Portobello for £14 a portion with bread! 😳

Would theirs have looked prettier than mine? Almost certainly.

Would it have tasted better? I have my doubts… 😉

Definitely making this one again!

In case you've been living under a rock we're here to remind you that the World Cup starts this Sunday at 2am.

Our customer favourite New York rolls have been given a Scottish makeover and will be available to pre order for the game on Friday 19th June. Unfortunately they're not available for this Sunday :(

If you haven't tried a NY roll then you're missing out. A cross between a brioche and a donut they are so called as they were dreamt up by a chef in New York.

BTW they are also vegan too! Baked by , a dedicated 100% vegan bakery on the outskirts of Edinburgh.
