Our Story..
VegCø is part of a family run business. Primarily agriculturally based, the family business has diversified into Waste Haulage, Renewable Energy and more recently Food Production.
Captained by Ellie Louise Sinclair, VegCø use the renewable energy to power the indoor greenhouse, in which we currently grow a range of tomatoes and chillies, from which we produce a range of food based products. Our business thrives from having the ability to provide fresh, local produce 24/7, 365 days a year.
Innovation is our story.. Our Anaerobic Digester uses raw materials, in our case grass, (all grown on our own farm) and digests it within a series of tanks. This is a process very similar to the digestion within a human stomach. From the digestion process, methane gas is released. We capture this gas within a gas bag, and transport it through a large engine. This engine turns the gas into electricity. With a small portion of the electricity that we produce through the Anaerobic Digester, it is used to power our indoor greenhouse and keeping our conditions as consistent as possible.
Our food products stemmed from our influx of fresh produce! We use a range of chillies within our products, giving varieties of flavour and heat! Our range currently includes cooking sauces, jams and dried meat rubs. Available in retail, foodservice and wholesale.
