Elphin Larder

Elphin Larder On our croft in NW Sutherland, we supply home-grown pork and beef, local venison, and baked goods.

Breeding and rearing native breeds of cattle and pigs on our croft in Elphin, in the NW Scottish Highlands, we strive to produce a continuous supply (when not sold out of the prime cuts…) of quality beef and pork. With an on-farm butchery unit, we aim to keep our food miles as low as possible with livestock taken on a short journey to the abattoir at Dingwall, before being delivered back to us for

processing. Orders can be taken direct, with a list of available produce on request, or through the online Open Food Network selling platform for The Green Bowl (see website link – The Green Bowl operates on weekly order cycles, see link for details). All of our meat products are frozen soon after processing, to ensure they are received by our customers in tip-top condition! Additionally, we have free-ranging ducks and hens to provide a supply of eggs, availability largely dependent on season/weather…

Recently, we have also branched out to produce a small amount of baking and seasonal vegetables for sale through The Green Bowl. Continuously looking to improve on what we produce; we welcome any feedback our customers may have!

Bit of a last minute decision, but we will be having another pop-up shop… TOMORROW!!

We’ll be at the Elphin Community Hall from 11-2pm, stocked up with meats in the freezer - including plenty of roasts if you are looking for a tasty, local Easter treat! We'll have freshly made sourdough bread, eggs, and the food trailer will be up and running - serving hot and cold drinks and fresh, homemade hot food.

Final pop-up shop of the year!!

We're going to run a final, pre-Christmas, pop-up this Saturday, 20 December, at Elphin Community Hall.

Come and grab some last-minute meats for those special festive meals...

We have some delicious beef roasts, including rolled sirloin, rib roast, topside and silverside! As well as venison haunch roasts and pork shoulder, leg and loin roasts.

We have plenty of Christmas cakes left (seeing as someone forgot to put them on The Green Bowl...) - packed with brandy soaked fruit and nuts.

The food trailer will also be up and running!

Busy morning preparing for today's pop-up shop 😴

Freshly made rolls, sourdough... and cinnamon buns, just waiting for the final touch of some cream cheese icing!!

We also have plenty of homemade Christmas cakes (just like those that were so popular last year) - absolutely packed with fruit and nuts!

The freezers are stocked, and the hot plate is warming - ready to see you from 11am today!

Thank you to all who made it out to Elphin Festive Fayre on the 22nd. It was a great day... even if the weather was against us!!

As the weather might have put a few folk off visiting last time, we have decided to have a pop-up shop this Saturday, 6 December!! (Can't promise good weather, but here's hoping...)

We will have the freezer fully stocked with delicious Wagyu X beef, local venison, and our outdoor reared pork. As well as freshly baked sourdough and free-range eggs for sale. We'll also have some amazing homegrown mushrooms from Shed Veg and local honey from The Red Steading!

Of course, we'll also have the food trailer on the go serving up fresh, homemade hot food, as well as hot or cold drinks and the odd cake...
