Scots pines doing well. Beech and oak just coming into leaf. Alder and birch shooting up. It’s a nice time of year in the woods

A great week for a tidy up at Dicksons Wood. Pedestrian gates fitted. A bit of dry stone walling and lots of pathway mowing in the sunshine! 😎👍

So many hawthorn flies on the trees just now. It’s ok they don’t harm the trees but are called hawthorn flies because they emerge when hawthorn is starting to blossom.
