Jam Packed Preserves produces home made extra jams, jellies, marmalades, chutneys and curds. These are all hand stirred in small batches using traditional methods. Extra jams contain a higher quantity of fruit per 100g of product than an ordinary jam and all products are made and labelled according to trading standards legislation.

Is there anything better than a properly thought-out cheese board? 🍷🧀

Fine wine, fantastic cheeses, and the perfect preserves to tie all those sweet and savoury flavours together. It really is the ultimate indulgence. 🤤✨

While everyone has their favourite wine and cheese matchings, the real debate in our kitchen is always the condiments! We’re constantly torn between our classic Caramelised Onion Chutney, a kick of Chilli Jam, or a delicate spoonful of Quince Jelly.

Why choose just one? 😉

Ever looked at a jar of our preserves and wondered what on earth makes a hybrid fruit so special?

Take a look at the photo! From left to right, you are looking at three of the absolute heavyweights of the hybrid berry world: the Tummelberry, the Tayberry, and the Loganberry.

These unique fruits are ingenious crosses between different varieties, bred to create incredibly intense, rich flavours that you almost never find in standard supermarkets:

Tummelberry (Left) 🔴: A relatively new raspberry/blackberry hybrid. They are large, rounder, and juicier with a bright red colour and a deeply intense flavour—once tasted, never forgotten!

Tayberry (Middle) 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿: Originating from Scotland and named after the River Tay, this blackberry/raspberry hybrid is longer and sweeter than a loganberry. Because picking them is difficult, they aren't widely grown.

Loganberry (Right) 🍇: A raspberry/blackberry hybrid that resembles an elongated raspberry but with a lovely, rich, slightly sharper flavour that makes a wonderfully punchy jam.

We love celebrating these rare gems, but nature hasn’t been kind to the fruit bushes recently. One of our trusted growers described this year as “the worst fruit season ever.” 😔🌧️

Because the crop has been so deeply impacted, we have been unable to get any new stock of these hybrid berries this season. What is currently sitting on our shelves is the very last of what we have. Once these jars are gone, they are truly gone for the year.

We have been quietly looking into the idea of a Blueberry Jam behind the scenes for a little while now. Blueberries can be notoriously tricky to turn into the perfect, set jam because of their natural properties, but we are seriously considering dusting off the recipe book and giving it another go.

We cooked up these beauty wings using our brand-new Habanero Chilli Jam. We whipped up a quick, sticky Hot Honey glaze by combining the fiery kick of the new Habanero jam with a generous splash of our classic Surrey Honey.

The verdict? It was an absolute triumph. Sweet, smoky, beautifully fiery, and it is officially a permanent staple in the Jam Packed household from now on! 🍯🌶️🍗

We’ll definitely be getting this exact recipe written down to share with you all in the future so you can recreate it at home.

And just like that, our afternoon background television is officially sorted for the next two weeks! 📺🎾

There is nothing quite like the comforting hum of Wimbledon on the telly to make it truly feel like British summer has arrived. We'll be keeping a very close eye on the screen this afternoon to cheer on the British players making their big debuts on the grass today! 🇬🇧🙌

Of course, watching all that running around is hungry work, so we’re currently trying to decide which of our fresh berry extra jams is the perfect match for a bowl of strawberries and cream... 🍓🍦😉

Happy National Cream Tea Day! 🇬🇧🫖

Around here, a proper cream tea is usually reserved for a grand celebration. In our family, the moment the tiered stands and teapots come out, you know it’s either a milestone birthday, an anniversary, or a hen do! Life gets so busy running the business that we really have to lean into those moments to slow down and enjoy them.

(Though, as a jam maker, I do firmly believe that any day ending in 'y' is a perfectly valid excuse to bake a batch of scones... 😉)

Our professional shot here looks beautifully serene, but it got us feeling a bit nostalgic for those big family gatherings.

Mr & Mrs Jam Packed had a wonderful night out at Paddington the Musical yesterday evening! 🧸🎩

The show was so brilliant that a certain special guest decided to follow them home the second he heard about our extensive selection of marmalades. As you can see, he insisted on inspecting the entire lineup this morning, but ultimately settled on our classic Seville Fine Cut to pack for his onwards journey!

We did have to warn him that keeping a sticky emergency sandwich hidden under his iconic hat might ruin his outfit, but you know what bears are like... 🎩🥪😉
