Apprentice HGV Mechanic – J&D Cowper Ltd

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30
Position: Apprentice Mechanic
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Apprentice Mechanic to join our workshop team in Evanton.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in starting a career in vehicle maintenance and repair. The successful applicant will work alongside our experienced workshop team, learning how to service, inspect and repair HGVs, trailers, light commercial vehicles, cars, vans and workshop equipment in a safe and professional environment.
The role will include:
• Assisting with servicing and maintenance of HGVs, trailers, light commercial vehicles, cars and vans under supervision
• Learning basic mechanical repair and maintenance tasks
• Carrying out workshop housekeeping and safe working practices
• Using tools and equipment safely and correctly
• Supporting defect checks, inspections and general workshop duties
• Following health and safety procedures at all times
We are looking for someone who is:
• Reliable, punctual and willing to learn
• Interested in mechanics, vehicles and practical work
• Able to follow instructions and work safely
• Comfortable working as part of a small team
• Prepared to complete apprenticeship training and assessments
• Able to reliably commute to our depot in Evanton
• Aware of the importance of good timekeeping, attitude and workplace behaviour
Full induction, PPE and workplace training will be provided. Following successful completion of an initial probation period, the successful candidate will be supported into a full-time role and enrolled on HGV apprenticeship training with a local training provider.
