A great day welcoming colleagues from two Waitrose regions to Primafruit! 🍓🍌🍊

It was fantastic to host the teams for a productive regional meeting, followed by lunch and a tour of our site.

For many, it was their first opportunity to see behind the scenes at Primafruit, while those who had visited before commented on just how much the site has developed and advanced since their last visit.

Days like this are a brilliant opportunity to share more about what we do, showcase the people and processes behind the produce, and strengthen the relationships that sit at the heart of our partnership with Waitrose.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success — and to our visitors for the great engagement throughout.

Looking for your next bake idea?

Why not try these blueberry muffins topped with pistachios? Soft, fluffy and packed with bursts of sweet British blueberries, they're finished with a lovely crunch of pistachios for a bakery worthy treat that's simple to make at home.

Perfect for breakfast, a mid morning snack or an afternoon pick me up. This recipe makes 8-10 muffins.

Ingredients:
🫐 200g plain flour (or wholemeal for extra fibre)
🫐 2 tsp baking powder
🫐 80g caster sugar
🫐 2 eggs
🫐 150ml milk
🫐 75g melted butter
🫐 1 tsp vanilla extract
🫐 50g fresh blueberries
🫐 40g pistachios, roughly chopped

Method:
1️⃣ Heat the oven to 180°C fan / 200°C and line a muffin tin.
2️⃣ Mix the flour, baking powder and sugar in a bowl.
3️⃣ In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter and vanilla extract.
4️⃣ Fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, then gently fold in the blueberries.
5️⃣ Spoon into muffin cases and scatter the pistachios over the top.
6️⃣ Bake for 20-22 minutes until golden and risen. Enjoy!

It was a pleasure to welcome Tom Denyard, Managing Director of Waitrose, and Charlotte Di Cello, Chief Commercial Officer of Waitrose, to Primafruit yesterday.

The visit was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our operation, celebrate our long-standing partnership with Waitrose and demonstrate the passion and expertise that go into delivering quality fresh produce to customers every day.

A huge thank you to everyone across the business who helped bring the visit together. We were incredibly proud to share what makes Primafruit special and highlight the scale, innovation and dedication behind our success.

During July, Kate joined the The Waitrose Foundation - SA Global Board on a visit to South Africa and Namibia.

The trip went beyond the farms, into the townships where our workers and their families live. Two things stood out during this trip:

• Access to water, now available right in the heart of the townships

• 70 toilets, funded by the Waitrose Foundation, now serving the community and their families

Another highlight was meeting the worker voice committees that operate on each Waitrose farm. Hearing directly from committee members about the changes they've driven, and the impact they're having on the farms that supply Waitrose, was genuinely inspiring.
