We’ve been putting vanilla into everything this summer & it’s better in all of it.

Here’s the proof, slide by slide 👉

A little vanilla paste goes a long way on the grill - brushed over stone fruit and veg as they char, it brings out the natural sweetness and adds a warm, almost caramel note.

Case in point: sweet potato wedges straight off the coals, finished with a drizzle of vanilla. It sounds unexpected, but the vanilla plays really well against the smokiness and natural sweetness of the veg.

The classic was to use it - a good squeeze of vanilla paste straight into the cake batter. Topped with fresh berries, edible flowers, and a nutty drizzle for the finishing touch.

And of course, vanilla ice cream done properly. Sometimes the simplest pairing is still the best one!

Saturday had us in Whole Foods Kensington, sharing 200 slices of blueberry & vanilla flapjack and chatting to anyone who’d stop long enough

Massive thank you to Andiel and the team there for sorting us out and being brilliant hosts. And to Tom & Shannon, who’d travelled down from York for the weekend - Tom’s already planning his comeback at next year’s Thornton le Dale country show with a strawberry & LittlePod vanilla flapjack. We reckon he’s onto something 😉

15 years on the shelves at Whole Foods and days like this still make us properly happy. Thank you to everyone who stopped, tasted, and told us where they’d love to see us next 🧡

Okay this one made us a bit sentimental. Darts Farm has been stocking LittlePod since day one. As in, 16 years ago.

Same farm shop. Same little vanilla tubes. Still on the shelf.

We’ve picked up a few things along the way (hi, Kings Award 👋) but there’s something really lovely about a partnership that’s just... stuck. Thank you for having us from the start, Darts Farm 🧡

It was National Vanilla Ice-cream Day yesterday, so of course we had to celebrate with some Ice-cream in the sunshine!! 🍦☀️

We bumped into the loveliest lady at Darts Farm Summer Festival 🧡

Sonia stopped by our stand and ended up telling us exactly why she loves LittlePod, and it made our whole day. This is what it’s all about really - meeting LittlePodders out and about, hearing your stories, and having a proper chat!

Happy World Chocolate Day! 🍫

Today felt like the perfect excuse to get the chocolate extract out and make the cake that’s basically become part of the LittlePod family, our chocolate and beetroot fudge cake.

Janet first made it for our first anniversary at Chelsea Physic Garden back in 2011, and somehow it’s never left the menu since. That deep, fudgy middle with the glossy chocolate topping... it’s the kind of bake that makes people go quiet for a second before asking for the recipe.

A splash of our pure chocolate extract in the batter is what takes it from “nice cake” to “wait, what’s in this” - it just deepens the flavour.

Recipe’s up on the website if you fancy baking one for yourself this weekend (or just because it’s Wednesday and chocolate cake needs no reason).
