This morning we collected our fresh highland beef boxes. They’re slow grown, and reared to organic & pasture for life standards meaning our beef is seriously good beef 🥩🐂

We only have a small handful of boxes that aren’t pre-sold so please get in touch today to order yours. We can freeze down your box if collection is not suitable this week.

Seriously though? How do you explain this feeling to the city folk? The folk who watching flickering screens instead of living in the seasons and embracing the countryside.

Damn, as a farmer this really is the best feeling.

Today I was so grateful for my job as a farmer, it is our personal belief that farming should be a community benefit for all, and today was exactly that. 💚
The stress of the past few days has been intense, we’ve been up until 2am doing farm paperwork & farmshop preparations.
Today was a welcomed distraction , we hosted a local school group, who will be with us for 6 weeks weekly now. This visit was followed by judges coming out to inspect us for the Barn Owl awards, then immediately followed by a local Squirrel group coming for a funded farm visit.

A back to back day of welcoming groups, it was good for my soul, in particular a day spent doing bushcraft with teenagers 🌞

It was a busy half term here ✨

From wild venison butchery workshops, holiday club, hosting tractor trailer tours, welcoming a local SEND group, herbal walks, silaging, hay making, contracting & creating public pathway tracks 🚜💚

That was a few of the things we got up to here on the farm, it was great connecting with so many people & a huge thank you to everyone who helped facilitate from , & & more!

Now, let’s get this farmshop open! 🥩

It’s been a busy half term so far! Jason & Matt have been contracting & making winter fodder, meanwhile it’s half term for the boys & we’ve hosted workshops on the farm, and I’ve enjoyed speaking on tractor trailer tours around the estate we farm.

I share this reminder as a mum who like so many is spinning many plates. May your children slow you down be the biggest blessing, let them question everything.

Another great workshop yesterday welcoming for children’s wild venison butchery 🦌🥩
The session was followed by a farm tour to link up how our countryside provides wild & farmed foods.

Thank you to Darren for hosting & every family who chose to spend their bank holiday with us discussing such an important subject while learning a life skill!

A gorgeous bank holiday weekend celebrating 26 lunar years in this beautiful world 🌞✨

Jason has been busy contracting & cutting our own hay this weekend, while I had the pleasure of celebrating my friends hen do. I needed that time away from the farm because it is too easy to stay focused in my own head on the farm that I forget the value of stepping away in order to energise.

Yesterday we welcomed a local squirrels group for a funded visit which was joyful! The squirrels had a tractor trailer tour, followed by a baler demonstration from Jason then a river dipping! 🚜

We have also squeezed in collecting our next big project… have you guessed what it is yet? 💭
Now, the beginning of a week FULL of half term workshops begin! 💚

I’m on a rant talking about the importance of one of our most undervalued natural resources on the farm. If you make it to the end you will hear why it is so controversial 🌳
I share our thoughts from a place of genuine love for our countryside, soil, farming & nature. All need each other in balance and health.
I hope you are all having a fabulous bank holiday, Jason’s contracting today & Matt + I are welcoming a local scouts group on the farm 💚
