The first time you do anything is aways a littel nerve raking.

I also try out the old pat pat to encourage the bees to move out the way so you can see what is going on.

Are the bee attacking or accepting their new queen?

The key difference to look for are, biting the cage and tring to sting the queen vs feeding and being attentive towards her?

Up at the hives we introduce the new queen to the colonise.

The first hive I open, is very aggressive, I even put on some gloves.

It is amazing how quickly bees can start to biuld.

Back inspecting the nucs, I find a charged queen cells and a beautiful beautiful frame.

The bees go steadily more aggressive as I went through the colony. Still I think they will grow into a stong unit to over winter.
