A PROUD MOMENT FOR SHIELKNOWES FARM! ❤️🚜

A wee bit of exciting news from us today!

We've officially received our FOOD HYGIENE PASS from Falkirk Council following our recent Environmental Health inspection! ✅👏

What started as a dream of producing our own farm-reared meat and sharing it with our local community is slowly becoming a reality.

There's been a lot of hard work behind the scenes, from getting our wee farm shop ready to putting all the food safety procedures, paperwork and systems in place. And believe us, there's been plenty of blood, sweat, tears and probably a few choice words along the way! 😂

But today makes it all worthwhile! ❤️

As a small family-run farm, we're passionate about doing things properly, knowing where our food comes from and giving our customers confidence in the produce they buy from us.

This is another big milestone in our Shielknowes Farm journey, and we're incredibly proud of how far we've come.

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us, bought our meat boxes, purchased our eggs, shared our posts or simply encouraged us along the way.

We're only getting started, and there's lots more to come! 🐑🐷🥚

So our hens🐔 are still dragging moulting season out so eggs are still very low quantities and promise i will be shouting 📢when they restart and praying all my new girls lay soon🤞

We do still have our lovely fresh free range duck eggs available please give me a message if you want any and free local delivery too 🦆😁

Ever wondered what happens to our lamb once it reaches the butcher? 👀

Well, here's a wee sneak peek behind the scenes!

Our home-reared Roussin lamb has been in the skilled hands of Jimmy Mitchell owner of Bennetts Butchers in Airdrie, who's been busy working his magic, carefully preparing the different cuts for our Shielknowes Farm lamb boxes. 🔪🥩

From beautiful roasting joints to delicious chops and everything in between, there's a real art to traditional butchery, and we think it's something worth sharing!

We're incredibly proud of the animals we raise, the food we produce and the fantastic local businesses who help us along the way.

❤️ Raised with care. Butchered with skill. Enjoyed with love.

Our latest project is in full swing: The Cluck & Duck Inn coming soon and these hens better like their new abode and get laying proper again!!.. and i thought teenagers were bad to look after🙈🤞🤔 give me ducks any day they are less complicated x

Apologies for my huffy hens too🫣 when they have gotten over their crisis and start laying again i will let you all know im currently bribing them with mealworms and fruit and extra peas and corn as well as praying to mother hen to have a word.. we need eggs pronto😂 also some newbies pending mid October🙏..thanks for your patience from your grateful local egg dealer😘
