Hello/Bonjour from Disneyland Paris and the Powell family! We’ve had a lovely little break and will be back tomorrow having missed all our customers! Powell’s Plaice is still open and being run superbly by our wonderful team and some much loved and experienced familiar faces helping out in our absence.

Introducing another member of the Powell’s Plaice team - our wonderful Maisy!

Affectionately known by friends and family as ‘Moo’ we have now worked together for nearly 3 years and the time has flown. Maisy has lots of experience, is extremely efficient and works harder then anyone we know. Shes always the life and soul of every shift, keeping us all on our toes and making us giggle. You can normally find Maisy on the till, packing your order or answering the phone. That being said she’s also great at making a mean burger! Completely a team player in every way - we couldn’t run Powell’s Plaice without her.

When the original team you worked with for over two decades comes to visit!

These guys are totally amazing, taught us everything we know here at Powell’s Plaice and are just the nicest bunch of people you could ever meet. Felt so great having them here all in the same spot for the first time in years.

Ami, Dom, Clair and Jared it was great to see you and have the OG team back together.

It’s FRYday and we are super excited for another busy Powell’s Plaice weekend 🐟🐟

We’ve been enjoying so much getting to know all our lovely customers and wanted to give you the chance to get to know us too. With that in mind we will be doing a series of meet the team posts and with a few special offers tied in!

Holly is a massive Harry Styles fan, loves festivals and her friends and family fiercly. She is loyal beyond measure and always has a joke or a smile to cheer you up even when she’s not having the best day herself. After selling out following overwhelming demand last week we have tripled our order for these fabulous footlong sausages and they arrive today!!

What a week we have had 🤩

We can honestly say that Powell’s Plaice customers are the best customers in the world. We have laughed with you and perspired with you in our hot little fish shop on Acacia Road for the past 5 days and you guys certainly love your fish and chips!

Some fun and staggering statistics for you…

We have collectively consumed in just 24 hours of shop opening:

- 875kg of Cornish Hand Chipped Potatoes
- 136.2kg of Freshly Filleted Fish
- 398 Sausages
- And a whopping 543 portions of Curry Sauce and Mushy Peas

A big big thank you to everyone yet again from all of us for your support and custom. We quite literally couldn’t do it without each and everyone of you.

Lastly, a big appreciation shoutout to the Powell’s Plaice staff. We have the best team who have worked harder and longer than you can imagine to make this shop a reality. Holly, Maisy, Flossie, Ami, Kerrie, Beth, Laura, Chris, Ollie, Jason and my wonderful Mum and Dad you have been totally awesome 🙌🙌 We wouldn’t want any other team - thanks for the laughs and the blood, the sweat and the tears (quite literally) ❤️❤️❤️

Wow wow wow! Both yesterday and today have been so very busy and a rollercoaster of emotions for Powell’s Plaice. We want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for their patience and good humour during a completely unexpected high demand for our food. I have never seen crowds like it in all my time working within the industry.

We know we are still perfecting new systems and that errors were made and for this we truly apologise but we are striving to improve with every shift and every meal.

Completely humbled by all of Falmouth and beyond for their unwaivering support. We love you all ❤️🐟🤩
