Monday musings on the (rather cloudy ☁️) farm 🤔

Our spring born calves are growing on nicely 🧡

The majority of our flock were vaccinated for bluetongue disease last week, and the lambs were weaned so their mothers can have a well earned holiday! We are very proactive when it comes to flock and herd health so always try to prevent disease where possible.

Our first lambs of the year have left the farm this morning, always bitter sweet when we send animals off, but immensely proud that we can produce top quality, traceable, high welfare food.

Still a few lamb boxes available for the summer but they are being reserved very quick now. £150/half lamb.

Beef boxes are all reserved for mid July now, but there will be individual cuts of topside, mince etc available, see the pinned post at the top of this page.

What’s been happening on the farm this week? 👀

🐮 The cows have been enjoying the sun on their backs (now the liquid sunshine is back! 👀)
🐑 The lambs are growing like weeds! We’re also getting the sheep ready for Royal Cornwall Show, come and see us if you’re there. Look out for our show board in the sheep tent 🐑

We’re also getting ready for a busy few weeks on meat boxes 💥

🐑 The first lamb boxes of the year will be ready on 23rd June - if you’d like some on this drop, give us a message. £150/half lamb, vacuum packed and ready to go in the freezer. Nearly half of our lambs have already been reserved so do get in contact soon if you’d like a lamb box this summer.

🥩 Beef will be ready 17th July, still a couple of 15kg mixed boxes available to reserve, but be quick as they’re going quick! £225 for a 15kg mixed box.

Beef & lamb… coming very soon!!😁

This is the post you need to read if you would like beef or lamb for your bbq this summer 🍔

Our busy period for beef and lamb sales is just around the corner and our order book is now open.

All of our animals are slaughtered in an abattoir less than 5 miles from our Red Tractor assured farm, so you can be rest assured that our livestock are reared sympathetically and ethically, with animal welfare at the forefront of everything we do.

📆 Lamb will be available from June through to the autumn months.

📆 Beef will be available on Friday 17th, Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July

LAMB 🐑
Half a lamb consists of:
🥩 1 leg either left whole, cut into 2 joints or cut into leg steaks
🥩 1 shoulder either left whole or cut into 2 joints
🥩 1 neck fillet (we have a fab recipe for this)
🥩 A selection of barnsley and chump chops
🥩 Breast either b***d and rolled or minced

Unfortunately due to a combination of strong wholesale prices and spiralling input costs, our lamb prices need to increase, but still represent great value for money compared to buying individual cuts of lamb.

£150/half lamb, vacuum packed and ready to go in the freezer.

BEEF 🐮
Our beef comes as 15kg mixed boxes; with a mixture of:
🥩 Steaks
🥩 Mince
🍔 Burgers
🥩 Roasting joints
🥩 Stewing beef

£225 for 15kg mixed box. Booking is essential! These boxes are always reserved well in advance of beef collection weekend.

Individual cuts will also be available:
🥩 Topside joints £16/kilo - normally 1-2kg but we can sort bigger joints if ordered in advance.
🥩 Braising and chuck steak £15/kilo in roughly 500g packs
🥩 Mince £12/kilo in roughly 500g packs

Pre orders advisable as these individual cuts are first come first serve.

Lamb is vacuum packed, beef is bagged (vacuum packing a whole beef carcass would be very time consuming and push the butchery costs up even more!)

Photos below of our beef and lamb before it went in our freezer 😋 Please message us if you’d like to put your name on either list. Both the beef and lamb are limited in quantity and always sell out by the time they’re back from the butcher, so booking in advance is vital.

It’s Great British Beef Week so what better way to celebrate it than to share a few photos of our cattle who produce the best beef we’ve ever tasted 😍

Our next beef will be ready end of June/beginning of July. Message us if you’d like to reserve or would like more information on individual cuts or a 15kg mixed cut box 😍

What a busy few weeks 😁

Thanks to everyone who bought beef last weekend, we hope you all enjoyed it! Our next beef will be available sometime in June or July, so keep your eyes peeled for more info. Taking orders for the 15kg boxes now though as these always get reserved quick.

Lambing has now finished and we’re catching up on sleep 😁 Our lambs are enjoying being outside, it’s nice to take 5 minutes and watch them play whilst their mums have breakfast.

Fresh, fully traceable, local beef available from the farm this weekend until it sells out - first come first serve!

Select cuts available as most of the beef is now sold! 😁

🥩 Topside joints £16/kg - 2-3kg if you’ve got a big Easter dinner planned or could easily be cut down into 2 or 3 smaller joints when you get home.

🥩 A few sirloin steaks (£30/kg) and rump steaks (£22/kg) left- these will go quick!!

🥩 Mince £12/kg in 500g ish packs

🥩 Chuck steak £16/kg in 500g packs SOLD

First come, first serve. Collection this weekend from our farm at Argal, Falmouth. Message us for more information or to arrange collection.

Update from the farm 🐑🐮

We’re down to 10 ewes left to lamb 😁 It’s been pretty successful and we’re looking forward to getting them outside soon once the fields dry up a bit, but for now they’re happy in the dry shed.

Next weekend is beef collection weekend, so if you’d like some fresh beef, we should have mince and topside joints available individually from the farm next Saturday and Sunday (you might even be able to see the lambs too). First come first serve. We had a sneak peak in the butchers this week and it’s looking amazing 🤩
