Farewell to Southwick Brewhouse and Suthwyk Ales
We have a heart wrenching announcement to share with you.
As the leaves begin to change their hue and the crisp autumn breeze blows in, it is with a heavy heart that we must announce the impending closure of Southwick Brewhouse and the end of the Suthwyk Ales era on September 30th 2023.
Over the years, we've poured our hearts and souls into this magical place, and it's been an incredible journey filled with laughter, memorable moments, and of course, some seriously top-notch brews!
However, we must face the reality that we can no longer sustain the Brewhouse in its current form. Our hops are wilting, and our barrels are drying up, and we simply can't continue.
We wanted to let you, our incredible community, know first hand and express a hearty toast to YOU – the ones who've made this ride unforgettable.
You've been the hops to our barley, the malt to our mash. Times have been unpredictable but your smiles and camaraderie have kept our spirits high. As we navigate the choppy seas of change, we're reminded of the warmth and joy your presence has brought to our little corner of the world. Your loyalty, laughter, and love for beer have warmed our hearts more than you can imagine.
Let's be honest, we're not crying; someone just happened to cut a hop nearby.
To help ease into life without the Brewhouse, all Mead and Wine will be £8.99 from now until... well until the end.
An Opportunity to Brew Dreams
But wait, fellow adventurers! Our tale takes an intriguing twist.
The Brewhouse's closure may mark the end of one chapter, but it also presents a unique opportunity for a passionate individual, a history-hugger and a brew-believer, to embrace its legacy. The Squire of Southwick eagerly awaits to hear from those who might consider becoming the guardian of this exceptional testament to Victorian brewing culture. Thank you for being a part of our journey. Here's to new beginnings and the legacy we leave behind!
And now, before we sign off for the last time, here is one last joke that's so terrible it might just make you smile through the tears:
Why did the barley refuse to leave the Brewhouse? Because it couldn't beer to say goodbye!
Cheers for now
