Good evening all! We had some lovely visitors staying with us at the weekend. South East TREC held their competition at the farm. Happy horses and smiling people enjoying their camp out. It was such a pleasure to host. πŸŽπŸ™‚

Good evening! Hello to new followers! πŸ‘‹πŸ™‚ We had another lovely little visit from the youngest of our local scout groups this evening, The Squirrels! We showed them the wheat growing in the field, the straw bales and the grain from last harvest. We had a look at some calves and their mums and talked about the difference between the straw they sleep on and the hay they eat. And of course we had a look at some tractors too. If anyone can think of an age appropriate (4-6 year olds) answer to the question 'how can you tell which are boys and which are girl calves?' I'd be very grateful! πŸ˜¬πŸ˜ƒ My other favourite question was why are cows noses so snotty? Off to find that out now! Jen x

Afternoon all! Do you remember back in 2022 we were honoured to be part of The Queen's Green Canopy? The Parish was given 70 lime trees and decided to help us create a baby avenue all the way down Dayton Road. We spread meadow hay around the baby trees in the hope that we would bring in a bit more biodiversity and planted a patch of wildflower mix beside it too. Well, I thought you might like to see how it's looking now. πŸ™‚

What a beautiful evening for a farm visit! Lovely to welcome one of the troops from Sheldwich Scouts. We think they had fun meeting the cows and learning a bit about growing wheat. Thanks to Phil for putting together his brilliant hand washing station and our Ben for his tractor and farming knowledge. πŸ™‚
