[ BEHIND THE BREW ]

Last week we made a batch of our mad cat Lager!

This craft lager is made with 4 grains for depth and hopped with Tettnang Noble hops to give a soft spiciness with subtle herbal and floral aromas.

It's crisp and refreshing!

This will undergo a lengthy fermentation and lagering period and will be available in the new year!!!

[ BEER-DUCATION WEDNESDAY]

The ancient Egyptian method of brewing beer involved;
Sun drying grains for 2 to 3 days.
Making it into loaves.
Crumbling them into water and left to ferment outside for 1 to 3 days.
After 3 days the mixture could be strained and have various herbs added to it to customise it.
Egytpian beer would have had a lower alcohol content and was often referred to as "the drink of the pharos".

The Followed Star leads the way. Simple but Effective very pale ale made with a pilsner Lager malt, lightly hopped to give a slight lemon citrus twist.
