I kept meaning to post. I took the photos. And then you arrived in your fabulous droves and kept me busy, busy, busy all morning. Lovely to see so many of you, and thank you for waiting so good-humouredly if you were in a queue.

Last Saturday I ran out of cheese scones at ten past twelve, and lots of you were disappointed in the afternoon, so I made an extra batch this week. The last bagful left the building at ten past one yesterday. Game on! Even more cheese scones next week!

Thank you for another lovely Saturday, Faversham ❤️ Today I'm back to the ponies part of my buns'n'ponies life. I hope you all have a great Sunday too, especially if you have some Nice Buns stashed away to enjoy.

I'm a very lucky cake lady.

When I got to the market this morning I'd had such a full on morning. The Cake Elf has gone to a wedding in Bristol for the weekend which meant I had all of the horses to check in on and feed this morning, as well as baking all those scones.

Just as I was regretting my life choices and wishing I had taken the weekend off, you all arrived. And you cheered me up immensely. We talked about so many different things today and it was lovely. And you bought a lot of cake.

I've been and played with the Cake Elf's cat, I've done the horses, I've walked the BunDog, I've eaten pizza (amongst other things!), I've put my flowers in water - thank you 😍 - and now I'm lying on the sofa with the BunDog watching Strictly, and counting my blessings. I'll be here a while.

Thank you all so much for an awesome market day. You folks are simply the best.

This week I've been busy with my other life, the ponies bit of buns'n'ponies, with two days of pony camp. There's no actual camping, it's more like boot camp for riders - two days of riding lessons. I fully intended to fit in market baking around this, and did even make a start, but....the weather is glorious, the BunFamily has had a tough couple of months, so the Cake Elf and I are going to head for the beach hut instead. This summer seems like it's going to last forever, but it almost certainly won't, and I'm enjoying this bit far more than the scorching temperatures back in June and July. And also August. Carpe diem, and all that. We walk this way but once.

I'll be back at Faversham Market next week but if you have any cake emergencies meanwhile drop a message to the page and I'll see what I can do.

A relatively rare sight these days: a box of original style Nice Buns . It's a shockingly bad photo but I didn't look at it before I covered them up and put them in the Bunmobile to deliver them to Kesson Physiotherapy. If you are one of their clients you'll be able to take part this week in their Macmillan fundraiser - good people using good cake to raise money for a very good cause.

I don't bake cupcakes for the stall very often these days because mostly they've gone out of fashion - I used to bake and sell around 250 a week in their heyday - but I'm still happy to bake them for special orders.

I also still do celebration cakes to order. I've done a couple in the last few weeks, and completely forgot to take any photos of them 🤦🤷🤣 They were really pretty though!

Thank you to everyone who came to the stall at Faversham Market on Saturday - lovely to see so many of you out enjoying the sunshine. Let's do it all again next Saturday!

Thursday shopping day, Friday baking day and Saturday bringing Nice Buns to Faversham Market and seeing all of you lovely people, sharing cake chat and life chat and enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.

Here's my first top cake tip for you: mascarpone makes an excellent substitute for clotted cream on a fruit scone, and is that bit more versatile for other recipes.

Second cake tip: a Nice Bun will improve the quality of your day far more than any other pound you spend. Think of it as an investment in your Saturday happiness. ❤️
