Hi everyone, I'm Tony 👋
Today marks 6 years of Seitan Hustle, and I thought I'd take you on a journey through where it all began.
It all started during pandemic in 2020 with nothing more than a sketch in a notebook. I had a George Home fryer from Asda, and I experimented non stop, trying to create the best seitan and the crispiest vegan fried chicken possible. Everything was stored in a tiny freezer at home!
Back then, every order came through Facebook Messenger. I had a whiteboard on the wall to keep track of what needed cooking and when. During the lockdown, I remember you'd all pull up outside my house to collect your food. Somehow I was managing around four orders an hour... looking back now, I genuinely have no idea how that worked!
Eventually we made the move to the Lord Street shop that so many of you know today. We slowly built an amazing team and watched this little idea grow into something I could only have dreamed of back then.
Two years into the business, I met the love of my life, Skye. She actually started as a customer... completely unprofessional, I know, but I fell in love! ❤️ Since then, she's become one of the biggest parts of Seitan Hustle. So many of the dishes you all love came from her creativity, including the Special Mixed Kebab, the Meatless Meat Feast, and countless new flavours and ideas we've developed together over the last four years.
And I couldn't celebrate six years without mentioning Dec, my work son/jester/best friend. He's been with us for nearly five years now, and I'm sure many of you know him well. He's a huge part of the business, and if you've ever had our Salt & Chilli Chips, you'll know nobody does them better!
Six years has flown by. We've had highs, lows, challenges, long days, late nights, and plenty of moments where we wondered what was coming next. But through it all, one thing has stayed the same: your support.
Whether you've ordered once, become a regular, shared a post, recommended us to a friend, or simply believed in what we do, thank you. Every order has helped us get to where we are today.
