🍂 Hello September… and hello to some new shopping habits! 🍎🥕🥖

We’ve been a little quiet on here recently as we’ve been busy behind the scenes working on our brand new community food hub in Folkestone — Nineteen — but Kent Food Hubs is still very much here for all your local produce needs! 💚

As we head into autumn, it’s the perfect time to rethink where our food comes from and build some new shopping habits.

When you shop through KFH, you’re choosing to support small-scale local farmers, growers and independent producers, keeping more money within our local economy while enjoying brilliant seasonal food from closer to home.

📢Folkestone - we need your help!💚

We’ve been working behind the scenes on plans for Nineteen, our new community food space in Guildhall Street, and now we want local people to help shape what happens there.

We’re developing ideas for affordable cooking workshops, family activities, food skills sessions and ways to bring people together around food - but rather than us deciding what Folkestone needs, we want to hear from you.

Hey hubbers, been a bit quiet on here as I am moving house! (Beckie💚)

But, I thought I would share this very satisfying feeling of putting this weeks veg box away in my new fridge 😁🥕

And very happy this can all be eaten raw to power me through the next few days, before cooking begins again 😂

🌿✨ We’re super excited to be part of the Big Green Fair this Sunday, 7th June, at Enbrook Park in Sandgate! ✨🌿

Organised by the fabulous Sandgate Environmental Action, this fantastic community event is all about celebrating sustainability, local action, and greener living.

Come and say hello to us at Kent Food Hubs and ReStock , chat with us about sustainable shopping, supporting local producers, and reducing food miles. We’ll also have plenty of delicious farm-fresh goodies available to take home! 🥕🍓🥬

👀 Spotted in the veg boxes this week…

Beautiful, locally grown broad beans! 🌱💚

That means they’ll be available to order from Kent Food Hubs next week, just as they’re coming into season.

Broad beans are packed with fibre, protein and nutrients, making them a delicious addition to summer salads, risottos, pasta dishes or simply steamed with a little butter and mint.

One of the joys of eating seasonally is enjoying produce at its absolute best – and these broad beans are a perfect example. Fresh, local and full of flavour! 🌿

Keep an eye on next week’s orders if you’d like to get your hands on some.
