🌱 It was an absolute pleasure to cater for the Sustainable Futures Forum again yesterday!

A huge thank you to the brilliant Hayley It’s A Wonderful Slice for creating such delicious plant-based dishes using ingredients from our Kent Food Hubs producers. 💚🥕🌿

This is always such an amazing event, bringing together people from across our community who are championing sustainability and working towards a better future for our area.

It really highlights just how much incredible work is happening right here in Folkestone — and gives us all the opportunity to connect, share ideas, support one another and hopefully spark even more collaboration. 🤝✨

We’re very proud to play a small part in it — and, of course, to showcase some fantastic local food along the way! 🌱

🥕 VEG BOXES HAVE LANDED AT BUTCHERS OF BROGDALE! 🥦🥔

We know lots of their customers have been asking for fresh veg to go alongside their amazing local meat… so here we are! 🙌

Our £15 Kent Food Hubs veg boxes are now available from Butchers of Brogdale at Park Farm, Folkestone.

There’s a limited supply available over the weekend only, so once they’re gone, they’re gone!

💚 MEET THE LADIES BEHIND YOUR HUB ORDERS! 💚

Say hello to Beckie & Mel 👋 – both Directors of Kent Food Hubs and the tag team behind keeping our weekly Hub days running!

There’s a lot that happens between you clicking “order” and your lovely local produce making it into your hands. 🥕🍞🥚

Each week you’ll find us collecting produce from our brilliant suppliers, checking deliveries, packing your orders, organising collections and deliveries, answering customer messages and generally making sure everything ends up where it needs to be! 😅

And because we’re a small team, Hub day is just one of the many hats we wear. Alongside running the weekly Hub, we’re both small business owners and, as KFH Directors, there are plenty of other projects, markets and community work happening behind the scenes too.

It can definitely be a juggling act – but we aim to please and genuinely care about every order that goes through the Hub. 💚

So next time you collect your shopping or open your delivery, there’s a good chance one (or both!) of us has packed it for you.

🌿✨ We’re super excited to be part of the Big Green Fair this Sunday, 7th June, at Enbrook Park in Sandgate! ✨🌿

Organised by the fabulous Sandgate Environmental Action, this fantastic community event is all about celebrating sustainability, local action, and greener living.

Come and say hello to us at Kent Food Hubs and ReStock , chat with us about sustainable shopping, supporting local producers, and reducing food miles. We’ll also have plenty of delicious farm-fresh goodies available to take home! 🥕🍓🥬

👀 Spotted in the veg boxes this week…

Beautiful, locally grown broad beans! 🌱💚

That means they’ll be available to order from Kent Food Hubs next week, just as they’re coming into season.

Broad beans are packed with fibre, protein and nutrients, making them a delicious addition to summer salads, risottos, pasta dishes or simply steamed with a little butter and mint.

One of the joys of eating seasonally is enjoying produce at its absolute best – and these broad beans are a perfect example. Fresh, local and full of flavour! 🌿
