It looks like a pizza, it cuts like a pizza… but it’s completely edible cake magic from our guest demo by Kate (). You won’t want to miss seeing how it’s made!

Whether you’re a regular or you’ve been thinking about coming along for a while, this is your sign to join us. It’s a relaxed, friendly evening full of baking inspiration, great ideas, and plenty of delicious samples.

Our June meeting is almost here, and we can’t wait to see you this Wednesday at the Luncheon Club in Formby!

This month’s theme is all about one of the most comforting, creative, and versatile bakes out there…
🥧 Pies & Pasties 🥐

With Father’s Day just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to come along and practice, perfect, and share your favourite family recipes — or try something completely new! Whether you love a classic shortcrust pie, flaky hand pasties, sweet pies, or savoury twists, this is your chance to bake, taste, and be inspired by others in the group.

We’re thrilled to have Kate, known as , show us how to create an incredible, realistic cake that looks just like pizza! Expect clever techniques, fun decorating ideas, and plenty of inspiration to take your baking creativity to the next level.

It’s going to be a brilliant, hands-on, flavour-filled evening — and we’d love you to be part of it.

Our next Formby Bake Club will be meeting on the 17th of June, where Kate will be demonstrating realistic cake decorating, specifically making a realistic pizza cake! Think of those GBBO Sainsbury’s adverts of ’is it real or is it cake’ … you’ll be learning how it’s done!

The baking theme for this meeting is: Pies & pasties - so get those Father’s Day recipes perfected before the big day! ❤️

WOW! What a fantastic meeting that was! Our sincere thanks to Brian for not only coming in to talk about his experience within the culinary world, but he also prepared a phenomenal steak Diane and sea bass recipe we all were able to sample.

We can’t wait to welcome Brian back again, feel free to comment below any requests for future meetings you’d love to see too, this bake club is for us all to enjoy and benefit from! ❤️🧑🏼‍🍳

We’ve got some lovely baking evenings coming up, and we’d love you to join us! Whether you’re a confident baker or just starting out, Formby Bake Club is all about learning, sharing ideas, trialling new recipes and enjoying good bakes in good company.

We meet on the 3rd Wednesday every month, each meeting is £5, and we ask that you bring along a baked idea under that month's baking theme!

MAY'S Guest Speaker is Southport Chef Brian Wareing! 🍰🍴🍳

Brian was born and raised in Southport, and has a long history within the food sector! From starting and running his own food catering company for 17 years, to being the former head chef at the Scarisbrick Hotel, lecturer at Southport College, working in some of London's top kitchens, launching a food court at Southport's Fashion Show, and running a private dining company - we're confident this talk will be full of fascinating stories and memories!

Brian started his career working for his father's fruit & vegetable business with his brother, Marcus Wareing, who appears on Masterchef the Professionals as a judge too!

So, come along to Formby Bake Club this May, bring your favourite baked tart and some questions for Brian, and let's have a great meeting! To register, just click on the Google Forms link in the comments below 🎂
