The Global Cheese Awards, held at Frome Agricultural & Cheese Show in the South West of England, has been well known for over 150 years as the "Frome Cheese Show", one of the oldest cheese shows in Britain.

2011 saw the event rebranded as The Global Cheese Awards, with the classes expanded to enable international brands to enter from all over the world. This is a theme we are committed to buildi

ng on and we're always on the lookout for new cheeses from all corners of the world! The show is now visited by 20,000 cheese-loving consumers, dairy industry professionals and buyers from many of the UK's leading retailers. Following the 2014 show awards, the GCAs now have a new Chairman, Mark Evans of Dairy Crest, who is shepherding in big changes to the 2015 awards along with the committee in order to ensure its continued success. Changes include moving the Trade Exhibition & Judging day to Thursday 10th September 2015 rather than Friday following feedback from attendees that this would be a more convenient day in terms of work and travel. As the public show day will remain on the following Saturday; the committee has essentially created a 'changeover day' on the Friday so that trade specific exhibitors can relinquish their space, passing it on to a consumer focused company who can then sell their produce to the thousands of visitors on Saturday 12th September 2015. In order to further support the dairy industry, the committee are also exploring holding a "Judges Question Time" - enabling entrants to get feedback to help them produce future award winning cheeses.
