🥃 𝟴𝟰 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗸. 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱.

Our 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝘂𝗺 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗡𝗼. 𝟱 is one of the smallest releases we’ve ever bottled.

Three years ago, we filled a single ex-Rioja wine cask with rum that we had fermented and distilled from pure cane molasses here at Llanfairpwll Distillery on Anglesey.

After three years quietly maturing, that one cask gave us just 84 individually numbered bottles.

The Rioja cask has brought something completely different to the rum — rich notes of ripe cherry, dark berries and vanilla, alongside toasted oak and a gentle warming spice.

We’re incredibly proud to share that Llanfairpwll Distillery has been 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 & 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

What started with making gin here on Anglesey back in 2018 has grown quite a bit over the last eight years.

Today we’re still making our gins, producing Welsh rum completely from scratch, and laying down our own malt spirit as we work towards the first release of Wisgi Môn.

So, to be recognised by an award that celebrates Welsh manufacturing feels particularly special.

We’re a small independent distillery, making our spirits here on Ynys Môn, and we couldn’t have got this far without the people who support us.

To our customers, stockists, suppliers, fellow Welsh businesses and everyone who has visited us, bought a bottle, recommended us to a friend or followed what we're doing — diolch yn fawr iawn. ❤️

Now we’ll just have to wait and see what happens on awards night! 🤞

Today we're releasing something a little bit special.

𝗔𝗺 𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗼 𝗰𝘆𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗳, 𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘄𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘂 𝗪𝗶𝘀𝗴𝗶 𝗠ô𝗻 𝗰𝘆𝗻 𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗴𝗲𝗻 — 𝗪𝗶𝘀𝗴𝗶 𝗠ô𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗸.

Our new 𝗪𝗶𝘀𝗴𝗶 𝗠ô𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 has been distilled here on Ynys Môn and bottled directly from Batch 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲/𝟲 𝗮𝘁 𝟲𝟯.𝟱% 𝗩𝗢𝗟 — before oak, time and maturation begin to transform it.

⏪ THROWBACK — AUGUST 2024

A major milestone in the Wisgi Môn story. 🥃

Two years ago this month, our new brewing equipment arrived at the distillery and the hard work of getting everything unloaded, installed and commissioned began.

For us, this was much more than just some shiny new stainless steel. It was a huge investment in the future of Llanfairpwll Distillery and the equipment that would allow us to take the next big step — producing our own Welsh single malt whisky here on Anglesey.

From a shipping container full of equipment to a fully operational brewhouse, this was the point where years of ideas and planning started becoming very real.

Since then, that equipment has produced the wash for every drop of Wisgi Môn currently quietly maturing in cask. 🛢️

There have been plenty more milestones since — first mash, first fermentation, first spirit run, first cask filled — and there are plenty more still to come.

The journey towards our first release continues...

What an amazing couple of days at the Anglesey Show! 🙌

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to see us in the Food Hall. It was brilliant to catch up with so many familiar faces, meet lots of new customers, chat all things gin and rum, and see so many people enjoying our spirits! 🥃🍸

Events like this are about so much more than just selling bottles. We love getting out and meeting the people who support what we do, catching up with other fantastic local businesses and producers, and being part of such a brilliant showcase for everything Anglesey has to offer.

After a very busy couple of days, we're absolutely shattered… but we've had a fantastic time! 😂

Thanks to everyone involved in organising the show, our fellow exhibitors, and most importantly everyone who came along and supported us.

Back to the distillery now to get the shelves filled again! 😅🥃

🥃 WHAT HAVE WE BEEN UP TO?

It’s been another very busy few days here at Llanfairpwll Distillery!

✈️ Friday – While we welcomed a group to the distillery for one of our Tour & Tasting Experiences, Aidan was over at RAF Valley Families Day representing us with a selection of our spirits.

🌉 Saturday – We were at the Bont Borth 200 Celebrations in Menai Bridge, running the bar as around 3,000 people came together to celebrate 200 years of the Menai Suspension Bridge. A fantastic day with 60 local traders, live music and a brilliant atmosphere throughout the day.

🥃 Whisky production – We’ve also filled the final whisky casks of this production run, adding more spirit to our growing stocks quietly maturing here on Anglesey.

Every cask we fill takes us another step forward with Wisgi Môn and our plans for the years ahead. 🦁🥃

🎪 Monday – No rest just yet! We’ve been busy setting up at the Anglesey Show, ready for another two big days.

📍 You’ll find us in the Food Hall on Tuesday 11th & Wednesday 12th August, with our award-winning range of Llanfairpwll Distillery Gins and Anglesey Rum Co. Rums.
