Last weekend we had the pleasure of attending and helping out at the most fantastic event organised by and .folkschool 👌🏼Just a short snippet here, lots more footage to show yet!

A 3 day coastal forage and cookery course took us into stunning bluebell carpeted woodland on the Dunskey Estate. Here we foraged, fished, cooked in and over fire, tracked animals, scrambled over rocks to collect seaweeds, drank botanical cocktails, laughed often, made new friends and learned more than we could ever have imagined from wonderful people ☺️

We were so delighted to be invited and supply local seafood of crab, lobster, Buckie’s, velvet crab, langoustines and scallops, all of which were cooked expertly over fire in the great outdoors!

The collective knowledge and experience of Mark, Hannah, Steven, Craig and the other pro foragers made this an experience we will never forget 💚

Highly recommended for bartenders looking to extend their repertoire, as well as playful home sipsters who like a wildly sophisticated tipple.

Over the course of a 1 mile walk over 3 hours, you will learn:

🌱How to find, identify, mindfully harvest and process great plants for cocktail-making
🍸Tips on building your own wild cocktail cabinet (i’m not talking carpentry here!)
🍾Endless inspiration for making your own gins, cocktails, schnapps, meads, shrubs, syrups, oxymels, vermouths, amari, bitters, beers, vermouths, wines, hooches and moonshine
🍹On-the-hoof cocktail mixing – we’ll make the drinks of the walk, on the walk
🍷Tasters, shots, slurps, mists and some proper refined cocktails
🌳The Drunken Botany of everyday plants and the hidden alchemy of urban green spaces
🥂Cocktail hacks and mixing tips from the pros

“Thankyou for an incredible afternoon! You knowledge of plants and cocktails is a great combination and we were blown away by the flavours you introduced us to. The foraged drinks and cocktails were delicious and we are now enjoying concocting our own hedgerow cocktails!” – Lee McGann, Glasgow

Can we come too? ☺️

On route to Seafood Expo Global in Barcelona. Always good to support Scotland’s fishing industry and the wider seafood sector at an event of this scale.

A great opportunity to catch up with people across the industry, strengthen relationships, and help showcase the quality of Scottish seafood to an international audience.

Proud to play a small part in supporting a sector that means so much to Scotland’s economy, communities and reputation.

Come and see us this weekend at South Machars Community Centre - Whithorn Christmas Market. It's always a good one with lots of brilliant stallholders selling local produce or gorgeous arts and crafts! And of course you can get your fresh, dressed crab, which can be frozen for Christmas 😉

We'll be there! Last years festival was a great experience with lots of inspiration ☺️

Hello out there!
Sorry we've been quiet here at SWFF HQ - just like the woods in winter, it may have seemed like there was nothing happening, but much has been going on behind the scenes as our little volunteer team planned next steps. 🌲🪾🍁🌱🍁🌲🪾
