This year Jonathan aka ("Captain Calamity or Panic") is part of a brilliant team taking on a 150‑mile cycle challenge to help fund a new £85,000 lifeboat for the Fleet Bay Inshore Rescue Service.

As the longest‑serving member of The Ship Inn team you may not know that I was first rescued by the RNLI on a school trip and have had a few disasters in life, not all on land, moments that has shaped a lifelong respect for the people who keep our coast safe.
Despite being diagnosed with blood cancer six years ago, I’ve been training hard and I’m determined to do my bit. With your support, I’m confident we can raise £10,000+ and help bring this lifeboat closer to reality. If you can spare even a few pounds, you’ll be helping save lives. And that feels like a pretty good reason to get on my bike!
