Thanks for another busy Saturday. Autumn vibes definitely kicking in on a lovely sunny, if blustery day.

Looking for something to do this weekend? I can recommend this for a day out. It's a family tradition with us and an all round, wholesome event. Great for the kids with rides and shows, horses and dogs and plenty of other animals to see. Lots of food, craft and country clothing stalls.

Whatever you get up to, have a great time.

Brisket.
Always popular on a Saturday counter.

Cook low and slow for best results.
Season to your taste and sear it on all sides or not. Tbh we don't usually and it always comes out just fine, but it's officially what's recommend. Pop in a large pot. Add a few chopped carrots, onions, maybe some sliced celery, we like chopped mushrooms in the mix( although The Christmas Butcher picks his out)pour over some gravy and red w**e to reach at least half way or more. Cover and cook on low, probably 150/ 160° for 3½ to 5½ hours minimum dependent on size. Or overnight in your slow cooker. Can't beat it.

Chilli-cheese sausages going well today. They are REALLY good in a hotdog bun with plenty fried onions- or even boiled onions if that's your thing.

The cheddar gives a delicious flavour and texture with a peppery hit of chilli.

Not sure when they'll be on again so try them while you can.

Not on the doorstep- well it is for me- but I know crafters like to get about with their wares. My local are holding a craft fair and looking for stall holders.

Lambs liver might not be the most photogenic of meats BUT it's vitamin A and B12 content is huge- great for eye & blood health as well as the immune and nervous systems. It's more popular atm than it has been in ages.

Adding it to your diet just once a fortnight could have huge benefits. It's relatively cheap, cooks quickly and tastes great- although I know it's an acquired taste for some.

Scotch pies. Restocked freshly every week from The Borders and fly out like, well, hot pies.

Of course they aren't hot until you heat them up😆

I hail from a Scottish mother, so I've got a real affinity for all things Scotland.

Liver is having a real renaissance at the minute. So nutritious and great value. We're selling absolutely loads of it. Seems that the nostalgia effect is big with this right now.

Do you like it in a casserole like us? Add bacon, onions chopped tomatoes, red w**e and BOOM . Winner.

Or coat it in flour and flash fry? Maybe be all bougie and flambé in a well known orange liqueur...

Whatever your preference we've got the goods.
