This was my wedding cake!
10 years ago today 🩷🩷🩷
The cake really wasn’t in keeping with our very casual Chiltern countryside village hall reception, but I was insistent on making my own cake, I really wanted to cover it in my sugar flowers, make it massive and to do that thing at the bottom where there are four cakes making the cool shape. So that’s what we had. I can’t remember all the flavours, there were multiple. I do remember throwing the top tier into a box for us to keep – and that we ate it with our hands at the airport on our way to honeymoon. I often think of little things we could’ve done differently on our wedding day, but really I wouldn’t change a thing.

Consultation today! It’s normally finger portions but a full Victoria Sandwich never goes to waste in my house. I’ve got a few new flavours and a different style of buttercream to test out on a couple today. Get booked in if you’d like a turn!

So my son really loves doughnuts, and last year for his birthday he said he just wanted a tower of them. I told him his mum was a cake maker so he had to have a cake. This is what we came up with! It’s his birthday coming up, he’s pivoted from doughnuts to churros so I have a new challenge ahead 🤔

✨ L&D ✨ What a lovely couple. Initially we discussed a completely different cake, something simple and rustic, I think strawberries were mentioned, but then when we got together to discuss details a whole new idea emerged and we all got quite excited. This cake was lovely and tall, hence the wonky photo.

I’m back! After a summer of wedding cakes and holidays I’m back in the kitchen. And back on Instagram. I’ve had a little break from it this year, really as an experiment to see how bookings go without it (fine, it turns out) but I do miss sharing my latest cakes and bakes and being in touch with the community! Also I rather overthought about every post, not everyone wants to hear about non-cake Lynne, or maybe they do 🤷‍♀️

So anyway, stick around here for pictures for anything sweet and yummy, and wedding and party inspiration. Here’s a summer picture of me... Next picture will definitely be of a cake!!

Another sporty one! A bit of artistic license with the lawn here… I thought curly unkempt grass would make an effective pitch. That chocolate buttercream underneath smelled divine!

Pretty much every year, I get asked to do a Lego cake in some shape or form. I’ve done them for weddings, grown-up birthdays, anniversaries, you name it. I loved making this one recently for a five-year-old!
