πͺ Cria Shearing at Ballymac β
πͺ
The babies got their first haircuts π₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ή
We cria shear as the amniotic fluid in mums womb makes the fleece tips brittle which means they are walking hay bags picking up every little bit of debris in the field. Now their fleece is usable in fibre production π§Ά
We do this early enough so they have lots of regrowth before Winter sets in.
All of the babies were very brave and ran straight back to Mums when it was all over.
There is always a small risk that mothers can reject their cria post shearing. Aaron shears them so they have lots of fleece left on their tails. After some suspicious sniffs all cria were happily reunited with their dams π₯°π₯°π₯°
