NEW ARRIVAL!
Domaine de la Légèreté

Since early 2021, I’ve had the privilege of importing Vanessa Letort’s wines , and now really excited to be collaborating with her new venture, Domaine de la Légèreté

Domaine de la Légèreté is a project that grew out of a friendship between Vanessa, Farid Yahimi , and Naoufel Zaïm , who runs a popular fishmonger in Belleville in Paris.

Set in Lorraine, where Farid grew up, the collaboration began in 2019 with the purchase of one hectare in Bulligny. In 2021, they expanded by adding 3.5 hectares in the nearby village of Lucey. The company was officially established in 2022, and the domaine now includes 6 hectares of organically farmed vines on clay-limestone soils.

Their approach to winemaking is simple and low-intervention, focusing on minimal inputs and respect for the land. Since there is not yet a winery on site, the grapes have so far been vinified in Alsace. However, plans are underway to build a chai (winery) in Lucey, allowing them to handle everything locally.

Domaine de la Légèreté is about a friendship's collaboration with a commitment to making honest wines. Légèreté means lightness which is present in all their bottles.

Available now and for trade!

NEW ARRIVALS - LES MAOÙ

I first met Vincent and Aurélie Garreta at the Salon des Anonymes in Angers back in 2022. They both had such warm, down-to-earth vibes. Even though they’re based between Lubéron and Ventoux. I was genuinely surprised by how light and fresh their wines were. I wasn’t the only one hooked on their wines - Liam and Tom couldn’t stop talking about how good they were.

Aurélie and Vincent share a deep passion for natural wine and came to it from completely different careers. She was a postal worker, and he worked in environmental research. While neither came from a winemaking background, Vincent was inspired by his grandmother, who had once been a winegrower. Despite her honest warnings about the difficulties of the job, she ultimately understood and supported their decision to follow their new paths.

They settled in 2014, starting out with 3.5 hectares of rented organic vines. Taking it step by step gave them time to learn both vineyard and cellar work, invest in essential equipment, and eventually buy land, all without taking on heavy debt. Today, they farm 12 hectares of old vines, growing up to 18 grape varieties, from classics like Carignan and Cinsault to some old or unusual types picked for their unique traits, like lower alcohol or
better acidity.

Vincent, with his scientific mindset, focuses on soil health and sustainable practices like using cover crops to enrich the earth naturally, planted fruit trees, without irrigation or chemicals. They’re committed to environmentally conscious viticulture that addresses climate challenges.

In their winemaking, they aim for purity and lightness with minimal fuss. Bright, juicy, and full of fruit, their wines are a hit from Marseille to Japan, and are now finally in the UK.

Bottles available now for trade and public!

NEW ARRIVAL - Circle back!

La Grange aux Belles was one of the first wineries I had the chance to work with when I started my importing journey in late 2019. But due to an exclusivity agreement with a fellow importer in England, I had to pause the collaboration. So I
was thrilled when Marc Houtin and I reconnected in 2024 and agreed to team up again.

Marc’s the heart behind La Grange aux Belles. Formerly, a geologist at Total, he made a radical life change after discovering Léon Barral and his wines in the 90's. From there, he went on to study oenology in Toulouse and picked up hands-on experience through various internships, including a pretty iconic one at Château d’Yquem.

In 2004, he made the move to Anjou and bought 12 hectares of vines in Soulaines-sur-Aubance. At first, most of the grapes went to the local coop, but Marc started making wine from a few parcels himself. That same year, he met Julien Bresteau,
who was interning nearby and would pop in to lend a hand. It became clear they needed to team up, so in 2008, they officially joined forces and launched Domaine de la Grange aux Belles. In the same year, Gérald Peau, also known as "Jesse" -
first bartender at the iconic "Cercle Rouge" in Angers joined the adventure.

La Grange aux Belles has made a name for itself and is now one of the standout labels in the natural wine world. These days, Julien has taken different paths, but Marc and Gérald continue the journey with 15 hectares of vines, certified organic
since 2011 and farmed using biodynamic methods, spread across five communes in the Coteaux de l’Aubance AOC. With Caroline, now on board as their new partner, one thing’s for sure, they aren't slowing down when it comes to delivering some of the best value wines in Anjou.

Only one more day until I host an unique wine dinner at Crabshakk Finnieston  and I couldn’t be more excited! 😃

It’s been over four years since my last wine dinner, so this one feels pretty special, especially because Crabshakk was the first place I ate at in Glasgow, ten years ago, back when I was still living in London.

The menu is looking incredible, and guests are in for a real treat:

🦪 Oyster with pear & pink pepper granita
Sparkling Blanc de Blancs Blaissières 2023, Maison Crochet, Lorraine

🔥 Hay-smoked shellfish escabèche
Olaris 2023, Clos des Cimes, Drôme

🐟 Aged beef fat confit John Dory, crispy capers
Mora Pinot Noir 2022, Du Vin aux Liens, Alsace

🍋 Lemon & burnt honey parfait, almond crumble, bee pollen
Pet’ Nat Phylactère 2023, Clos des Cimes, Drôme

I’ve heard there are still a few seats left - get in touch with  or email [email protected] if you’d like to join us. Can’t wait to see you there!
