About Crofters Larder
Crofting is a traditional social system in Scotland defined by small-scale food production. Crofting is characterised by its common working communities. Crofters Larder is a small rural enterprise on the Isle of Arran. The business specialises in enhancing simple, locally grown and sustainably foraged ingredients from the region of the Isle of Arran through fermentation, pick

ling, and preserving, using time-tested techniques to create exciting and tasteful artisan larder staples. Background
Crofters Larder evolved from our family business, Crofters Music Bar & Bistro in Brodick, and was founded in May 2020. With Crofters Music Bar & Bistro unexpectedly under wraps due to the coronavirus lockdown, General Manager Ealána Boyle took the time to pursue a longstanding goal – to launch and develop a retail food production business. Crofters Larder is an extension to the Crofters brand, but a completely separate entity. Crofters Larder currently operates from the Knox House premises on Shore Road, Brodick, Isle of Arran, and will do so until Crofters Music Bar & Bistro can return to trading. Mission
We are committed to ecological, environmental, and economical sustainability, and transparent local sourcing within 30 miles of Arran. We aim to have a net-zero carbon footprint, be energy-efficient, and ensure zero waste goes to landfill. We work with local food growers, producers, and farmers on Arran, the Kintyre peninsula, and the Ayrshire coast to source the fantastic ingredients we use to create our product lines. We work in collaboration, not competition, with the other fantastic island businesses, many of whom have become established global brands. We aim to generate employment for up to 10 local people in roles across management, operations, kitchen, retail, and waiting staff within the next 12 months, which will significantly contribute to the island economy. Providing full-time employment for locals, we are a real living wage employer committed to a sustainable work-life balance and career progression. We aim to offer apprenticeships and skill development opportunities for all members of staff.
