Something special is making its way across the Atlantic. This Blair Athol, distilled back in November 2011 and just bottled this June, is heading state-side as an exclusive release for the American market, landing soon through our friends at Henry Preiss.

Blair Athol doesn't get bottled as a single cask all that often, so this one's a real treat. Fourteen years in a first fill American Bourbon Hogshead has done exactly what you'd hope: honey, orchard fruit, and a real depth to the spirit underneath. Highland character through and through.

We've timed this one to land alongside America's 250th year of independence, and the label's our own nod to that, Lady Liberty watching over the skyline. Just 250 bottles making the crossing, each one at 49.9% ABV.🥃

This is part of what we love doing at Cask Masters, putting together single cask releases tailored to specific markets, so whisky lovers in different corners of the world get something made just for them.

Bourbon cask Blair Athol at cask... well, near enough cask strength. Who's picking up a bottle when it lands in the US?🧐

Some casks are made for a moment. Ours from the Campbeltown Festival just had one!

Our Teaspooned Blended Malt has picked up Gold at the , a lovely bit of recognition for a spirit we're genuinely proud of.

Thank you to the judges for the recognition. Have you tried this one yet?

Fermentation time is one of the simplest variables a distiller can control — and one of the most impactful.

Shorter fermentations tend to produce a cleaner, meatier character. Longer ones allow fruity esters and floral notes to develop, adding complexity to the wash. A few extra hours in the washback can take a spirit in a completely different direction. By the end of it, the wash is cloudy, aromatic, and full of flavour compounds built up over days of active fermentation.

Now! A question: do you know what the typical fermentation time is at your favourite distillery?

Ten years of Loch Lomond's peated spirit, then a first fill Calvados barrique brings apple syrup, orchard fruit, and a fresh sweetness that plays brilliantly against the funky peat and earthiness. One of the most exciting cask combinations we've bottled!

52.1% ABV, 289 bottles in total.

This one took a different path. Single grain Scotch has been quietly growing in popularity, and if you've been following our journey, you'll know we love exploring what grain whisky can offer. We kept it in a 2nd fill Sherry Hogshead for fifteen years, letting the wood do its work slowly — soft sweetness, gentle dried fruit, just enough to complement the grain without overpowering it.

Open it up and you get fantastic flavours of peanut brittle, demerara sugar, black treacle, and toasted coconut.

Just 304 bottles in total, and a reminder that single grain Scotch deserves a lot more attention than it gets. When did you last reach for one?

Yeast is one of the least talked about variables in whisky production, and one of the most important. From the strain a distillery chooses to whether it arrives liquid or dried, every decision shapes what ends up in the glass.

What do you know about the yeast behind your favourite dram? Any preferences?

A confession to make... We kind of have a soft spot for Clynelish...

That waxy, coastal character is unlike anything else in the Highlands, and ten years in a first fill bourbon hogshead only makes it more expressive — honeycomb, quince, sea salt, and wax.

Bottled at 55.4% ABV, just 284 bottles in total!

Are you a Clynelish fan?

The summer is here (well, at least the calendar says so and the sun is out. Somewhere!!).

To mark the occasion we are introducing 6 brand new single cask bottlings. You have already met two from this batch — the teaspooned Campbeltown blended malt and Laphroaig bottled exclusively for Campbeltown Malts and Islay festivals. Now the rest are here too: Benrinnes, Croftengea, Clynelish and Macduff. Six new single casks across Golden Proof and Distiller's Cut series.

Something for every mood, including whatever mood a Scottish summer puts you in 😄

Which one are you going for first?

Two Islay malts. Back on Islay! 🚢

We took these two "islanders" — a 10yo Laphroaig and a 15yo Ardbeg — back to the island they came from to celebrate Fèis Ìle 2026. Peat in the air, sea right in front of us, and sunshine we definitely weren't promised. What more could you ask for?
Everyone says whisky tastes better where it's made. Turns out they're right.

Slàinte to this year's @.ile, already can't wait for the next one.

What should we bottle for Fèis Ìle 2027? 👇
