Meet Zoë,

Zoë and Iain go back a good few years and knew each other a while before they got married in 2016 👰🏻🤵🏻‍♂️

🧘 Job Role: Labels, design and heads up the spiritual guidance department

🥃 Favourite Wh**ky: I worked on the film The Angels’ Share - Charlie MacLean was the consultant. He sent in an array of samples for the Art Department, one of which was a 1956 Tamdhu - that was something else. I didn’t think I liked wh**ky until then.

🍛 🍖 Favourite food: Pork Sunday roast, Thai green curry, hot buttered toast with either marmalade or honey!

🎶 Favourite album: it’s pure 90s - Dummy, Originals (Levi’s ad compilation!), Parklife, The Bends, Appetite for Destruction (or maybe Lies - okay, 80s), Common People, Songbook (Super Furry Animals), Break Every Rule (Tina T, more 80s), Pretty Woman film soundtrack 🎥

🐕 Past time - walks with dogs and favourite people, followed by cosying up near a fire with a cuppa and a decent whodunnit on the telly.🕵️

Whenever you’re around good wh**ky, you’re usually around good people…

Iain first met Jim way back in 1995. Jim was the DJ and Iain was the barman in the Cul-De-Sac, Ashton Lane, Glasgow.

If Iain had a pound for every time he carried Jim’s record bag, he’d be floating around the Med on a large yacht…

Over 30 years later, the wh**ky’s better, record bags lighter, and, the friendship is still going. 🥃🎶

North Star Spirits is now a team of 10+ super folks - some keeping things moving in the office, some bottling the good stuff, and some looking after the important business of casks, casks and more casks in the warehouse.

👋 Meet Sammy! (Cj Timwa)

🌴Sammy and Iain actually go back a few decades, when they worked together in the restaurant trade - Iain was the manager and Sammy was the chef.

🪇Fast-forward a few years (quite a few 😬) and Sammy is still cooking up a storm… only these days it’s in the North Star warehouse, making sure our casks are moved, handled and stored safely.

For those who haven’t met her yet, Katie is our shiny new Office Manager who joined us a wee while ago — and somehow, in no time at all, has managed to get all our processes and systems running like clockwork.

More importantly, she’s an absolute pleasure to have around. I genuinely can’t remember how we managed before her!

Everyone needs a Katie in their life — we’re just very lucky that this one works at North Star. ⭐️
