❤️ Challenge Poverty Week 2026 ❤️
5–11 October

At Growing21, we believe everyone should be able to access good-quality, affordable food with dignity.

Ruchazie Pantry is about much more than food. Our 755 members can access an affordable shop, meal deals, community meals and refreshments—but they can also find friendship, volunteering opportunities, learning, health support and connections to other local services.

With the support of our 62 amazing volunteers, Growing21 brings people together through Ruchazie Pantry, Fireclay Café, The Link community growing space and our many community groups and activities.

Community pantries are vital social infrastructure. They reduce isolation, build confidence, create opportunities and provide a trusted place where people feel welcomed, valued and supported.

As we plan the future Ruchazie Community Hub, we want to protect and expand this support so that local people can access food, health, learning, skills and opportunities under one roof.

Poverty is not inevitable. Strong, properly supported communities can make a real difference.

Extraordinary things happen in ordinary places. ❤️

🌿 Litter Pick #1 of 12! 🧤🗑️

Yesterday we had our first litter pick, planned and organised by the amazing young volunteers who were successful in gaining funding for Growing 21 through Youth Scotland’s Amplify Project! 🙌

This was the first of 12 litter picks taking place across our community, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along and got involved. 💚

A special thank you to the young people for putting this together and taking the lead in making a difference in our community. 👏

We have found a dog running about Ruchazie and we have it safely here at the Fireclay Café.
