It’s not easy to find words to fit the size and shape of the wild, wayward, joyful, exhausting thing that has been the Scottish Wild Food Festival. This post could have been several pages and dozens of photos longer, and there are so many people we could tag that we simply couldn’t count them. We come out of this last festival proud of what we managed to make happen over these years as a team, and grateful for the many new connections we’ve made and fostered in the community along the way.
The decision to make this the last event for us as a team was not an easy one, but it is the right one for us, with the many other roles we each have to manage, and we are heart-happy to do it knowing that we do so from deeper, stronger relationships and with many new friends because of it.
So - to all the facilitators, crew, volunteers, and participants who have helped bring the festival to life and support its growth through your knowledge, hard work, interest and enthusiasm.. a deep bow of appreciation.
Being able to release whatever the essence of this event is out into the wild is bittersweet but exciting, and as we let go we sincerely hope that the seeds planted over the 7 years and 6 festivals so far have fallen on fertile soil. Let’s all watch this space hopefully to see what might grow..
