Late Summer calving has finished.
We started on the 21st of July and finished 15th of August!

We have had some issues with the 2 week old calves becoming dehydrated in the 30 + degree heat, can’t really blame the calf for not wanting to drink warm milk, and then drinking too much in an evening and having milk scour, which then dehydrated them more.

So rehydration fluids were administered to 3 calves and all have recovered.
Very grateful for the small amount of rain we have had and the temperature drop.

We will be in Nailsea on Saturday for the best most brilliant farmers market there is!

Over 40 stalls of Primary producers.

In other words, the person that actually feeds their own chickens, collects the eggs,
The person that rears their own free range pork, butchers it and brings it to this market.

And us that hand cut our 3 week hung beef.

We Make your burgers by hand, hand pack each 500gm pack of mince and generally make sure each steak is cut to perfection, you won’t get that from a supermarket!

Hopefully see you there, if not we are Open tomorrow at Norwood Farm 9.30 till 3pm, Sunday 9 till 1pm 😊

There is something incredibly special about a sunlit market morning with live music playing in the background.
This Saturday, Nailsea High Street comes alive again with over 40 of our wonderful local producers. The forecast is looking beautiful, and to make the morning even better, we have Rikki Buckingham joining us to play live music during the market.
It is also a weekend for welcoming back some familiar faces. Please make sure to stop by and say a huge congratulations to the newly-weds at Loaf Shack, who are back with their amazing bakes. We are also thrilled to welcome back Colin from Bristol Woodturning with his beautifully crafted woodwork.
Come down, grab a coffee and some fresh food, and enjoy a proper community Saturday with us.

We have an emergency situation here at Whites of Wick.

At 8am this morning it was very obvious that there was some sort of water leak or burst main pipe.

So we started the drawing off water from our underground rain water tank, thank goodness we have this excess water.

9 sets of cattle without water!
On one of the hottest days of August!

Bristol water are beyond a joke, no offer to help with the cattle drinking issues!
Supplied the local caravan park with minimal water supplies, but nothing for us local people!

But refused to answer any more calls for help in our area!

We only finished sorting water for grazing cattle at 9pm!

After my last video of our first calved heifers and their calves was so gratefully received by all our followers!
Here is clip of one of my favourite cows with her second calf, a heifer that will hopefully join the herd in a few years.
Her lovely attitude and Mothering skills are certainly something we will be keeping in the herd.

Two lovely first calved heifers, 24 months of age, calved themselves, going into the main herd today.
Super happy with their attitude. ❤️

First lot of Spring cows and their calves have moved to the our Moor ground.
Happy with our breeding females, they are very laid back the West coast breeding is showing in our lovely heifers and second calvers 😊

After a slow start to calving, it’s properly kicked off now, 7 born yesterday!
Hopefully it won’t be too full on going forward!
Open tomorrow 9 till 2pm, Nailsea market on Saturday and open Sunday 9.30 till 1pm. 😊

We will be at Martock Farmers Market on Saturday,
Find us in the precinct right next to Co-op, cheaper than them too!

Open at Norwood Farm this week Thursday 9 till 3.
Sunday 9.30 till 1pm

Check out the amazing marbling on the Ribeye and Fillet steaks.
