Tomatin used to be Scotland's largest malt distillery, running 23 stills back in the 1970s, before choosing to scale back and build its own single malt identity instead.

We've bottled two Tomatin casks over the years, both matured in small 41 litre firkins, one finished in PX sherry and one in Oloroso.

Our new distillery guide covers the full story: https://www.thesinglecask.co.uk/blogs/distilleries/tomatin

We have bottled Glenrothes seven times now, more than any other distillery we work with, so we finally sat down and wrote a proper guide to it. It is a lovely, understated Speyside malt, bright and fruity, built mostly on sherry oak, from a distillery that spent most of its history feeding blends like The Famous Grouse rather than bottling itself. We currently have one Glenrothes cask in stock, an eight year old at cask strength, and the guide walks through what all seven of our casks have actually tasted like over the years: https://www.thesinglecask.co.uk/blogs/distilleries/glenrothes

Auchentoshan is a distillery in Scotland that triple distils everything it makes, giving it one of the lightest, most citrus driven styles in Scotch wh**ky. We bottled our own single cask from here, a 12 year old at cask strength, now sold out.

Our new guide covers the history, the process and honest advice on cask availability.

Most people know Tomintoul as Speyside's gentle dram, light, sweet and easy drinking. Fewer know it also produces a small batch of heavily peated wh**ky every single year, sold separately as Old Ballantruan.

We bottled our own cask from this distillery, and our new guide covers the history, the production and both sides of its character.

Glenkinchie is one of the quiet giants of Scotch: a Lowland distillery near Edinburgh that has been the public face of the entire region since 1988, built around a wash still so big it is often called the largest on the Scottish mainland.

We have never bottled it ourselves, and we say so honestly in our new guide, alongside the full history, how it is made and what it tastes like.

Read it here:

Glenkinchie is Diageo's Lowland classic malt near Edinburgh. History, worm tubs and flavour, plus how The Single Cask can help you plan a wh**ky bottling.

Edradour, just outside Pitlochry, was Scotland's smallest traditional distillery for decades. Its owner is now Signatory Vintage, one of the country's best known independent bottlers, which is exactly why casks of Edradour almost never reach anyone else.

We have put together the full story of this unusual little distillery, from its worm tubs to its peated Ballechin range. Read the guide here:

Edradour, Scotland's tiniest distillery, is owned by independent bottler Signatory. History, production, casks and planning your own wh**ky bottling.

Glen Keith distillery in Speyside spent decades as Chivas Brothers' own experimental site, trialling triple distillation and, in 1970, some of the first gas fired stills in Scotland. It closed in 1999 and sat silent for fourteen years before reopening in 2013. We bottled a 20 year old cask ourselves, all honey, cardamom and jammy orange.

The full story, and what a genuinely scarce distillery like this means for anyone thinking about a cask, is in our new guide: https://www.thesinglecask.co.uk/blogs/distilleries/glen-keith

Two hundred years without a visitor centre, then in 2025 Glencadam finally opened one for its bicentenary. It is a quietly excellent Highland malt, unpeated, floral and creamy, made on an unusual upward angled still that most wh**ky drinkers have never heard of.
We bottled one of the rare independent casks ourselves. The full story and tasting notes are here: https://www.thesinglecask.co.uk/blogs/distilleries/glencadam
