WHAT……A…….DAY! 😳

The dust has settled and the coals have cooled so it’s time to reflect on the busiest Grillfest ever! As always with an event of this scale there were a couple of hiccups but wow wow wow! 🥳

Firstly, massive congratulations to this years grand champions 3 Wingmen & A Little Lady who produced some fantastic food across all rounds and were worthy winners on the day but also a mention to all the competing teams who worked incredibly hard all day and contributed to a wonderful competition. The fact that every team won a round proves just how close it was. 🏆

Secondly, a huge THANK YOU to all the stall holders who brought so much energy and variety to the day. We love nothing more than hearing that our vendors have sold out and seeing constant queues for the games, bouncy castle and face painting was amazing to see 🤩

Thirdly, a huge appreciation for hsa_cricketclub for hosting us again and letting us take over the ground & keeping everyone well hydrated all day! 🍺🥂

Finally and perhaps most importantly, THANK YOU to the 1300 people who came on the day! We never imagined 12 years ago that we would reach this! Your support means everything as without you there is no event. What each of you did to support that many local businesses is truly appreciated.

So now there is only one thing to do - make Grillfest 2026 even bigger! 😀 Sunday 30th August 2026 - put it in your diary!

🔥 TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY! 🔥

🍗 Teams are preparing recipes
🧁 Vendors are stocking up
🍻 Bars are arranging stock
🛝 Activities are being loaded into vans

There is a huge amount of work that goes into Grillfest from everyone involved so we will be offline this evening as we get set up and make final preparations.

The sun will shine tomorrow and with over 250 advanced tickets sold, it’s bound to be a busy day. If you haven’t bought your yet, there’s no need to panic, YOU CAN SIMPLY PAY AT THE GATE.

As always, massive thanks to all our suppliers, vendors and all those who come along to enjoy the day.

Most importantly, please respect the teams & their workspace. They start preparing overnight and cook from 5am. We understand that you want to sample their offerings but please be patient and remember that any tasters are a perk and not guaranteed.

Just 5 days to go and the weather looks 😎 making it COCKTAIL WEATHER so if the ice cold pints, bottles & wine served up by either of the hsa_cricketclub bars aren’t your poison then Cask & Cocktails will be on the field to shake up some refreshing cocktails from classic favourites such as S*x on the Beach to the perfect BBQ accompaniment Smokey Margarita as well as a couple of frozen specials.

For those looking for a non alcoholic option, the club bar will have soft drinks available and penguincakesuk will be in the horsebox with tea, coffee and hot chocolate. ☕️

THE BEST ICE CREAM you will ever taste be returning once again!!

Grandpa Greene's Luxury Ice Cream is always a massive hit and the perfect choice after eating BBQ all day. We are very fortunate to have them involved and will certainly be the first in the queue!

🪽THREE WINGMEN & A LITTLE LADY 🙋‍♀️

Returning after a very successful debut year in 2024, Danielle Clark & co are back 😀

They were a huge hit with both judges and spectators last year with a superb blend of flavours and innovation as well as a very impressive set up! No doubt they have been working hard behind the scenes to perfect their recipes and will be hoping to take home the title.

We’ll find out a week today! 🔥

Once again, we will be using the day to raise funds for an incredible local charity - Reuben's Retreat

While we’re all enjoy the sun, drinks and food, it is easy to forget that many families experience heartbreak beyond imagination. The amazing work carried out by the retreat cannot be underestimated or over praised.

Their efforts provide much required support respite for so many and the chance for families to create special memories.

Please look out for their volunteers on the day and support their selfless work by buying a raffle ticket or throwing a a bit of change in the buckets.

We fully understand that times are tough for lots of people right now but anything you can spare really does make a massive difference.
