Our biggest expense creating daily fresh meals for our clients is food ingredients!

With food prices escalating at an un-precedented rate any offers of donations are welcomed with open arms and extreme thanks.

We were very grateful for a donation from the Harvest Festival held at Greenbottom Chapel…

This donation has allowed us to support our clients with fresh soups, vegetable accompaniments to roast dinners and many more items have been stored for future meals over the coming weeks.

If you have surplus food items… fresh, tinned, bagged or frozen please remember us.

A busy morning here at DFK head quarters… 😁actually the kitchen is an Old Cider Mill but no cider remains…😜

As it’s a Bank Holiday weekend the workload is even greater… 😬

Abbi and Henry are busy on making 30 sandwiches but 120 meals have been boxed and are ready to be collected by our Drivers.🚗

Thankfully the weather is cooler and easier for all staff and our Clients too 🥰

Harry was trained at Severn Skills based at Ta**us Crafts, part of The Camphill Trust

Once trained Henry was keen to further his skills in the kitchen.

🥣 Plate Donation Appeal – Help Support Our Meals on Wheels Service 🥣

Do you have any unwanted dinner plates tucked away in a cupboard? We’d love to give them a new home!

Our Meals on Wheels service is looking for good-quality, clean dinner plates to help us continue providing delicious meals to members of our community.

If you have any spare plates you’d be happy to donate, your generosity would make a real difference and help us reduce costs while continuing to support those who rely on our service.

We are looking for:

* Clean, good-condition dinner plates
* Plain or patterned plates are both welcome
* No chips or cracks, please

If you’d like to donate, please get in touch or drop them off at our centre during opening hours.

We…Dean Forest Kitchen, or DFk for short, deliver fresh meals cooked daily in key areas of the Forest of Dean.

But we are more than just a Meals on Wheels service…

We are a link between relations and our clients.

We are possibly the only people our Clients may see all day or even all week

We assist and support in small ways… like posting a letter or taking the bins out… not because we paid to but because we care for our isolated, hidden community.

In extreme cases we have found our Clients in emergency situations, called relatives and essential services then stayed with Clients until help has arrived.

We get no funding to do this…essential potentially life saving service.

Help us by spreading the word about our services…and help an isolated person more safe.
