Hey honey lovers! Just a little update for you. We only have a small amount of set honey available now so grab it while you can! We have some exciting things going on here so there may be a short delay on the 2025 honey but rest assured, we’ll back with updates and interesting facts soon. In the mean time, why not make the most of spring and your lovely gardens and plant something nice for the girls 🐝 🌺 🐝

Yet another reason to support British food producers. In summary, this year, all 5 of the honey samples from UK bee keepers were tested as genuine. “…chair of the Honey Authenticity Network UK, said: “The market is being flooded by cheap, imported adulterated honey and it is undermining the business of genuine honey producers. The public are being misinformed, because they are buying what they think is genuine honey.””

Fun Fact Friday!! A typical bee colony is made up of workers, drones and a queen. The drones are male and they do not have a stinger. Their main function is to fertilise the queen and here’s a bonus fun fact for you… they die instantly upon mating!

Honey colour is determined by nectar and pollen sources so it differs from batch to batch depending on the time of year and what the bees have been foraging on. It can vary from almost colourless to dark brown!

Fun Fact Friday! Honey is a natural product and when properly preserved, it will never expire. It may change in colour and consistency over time but if it looks fine and smells fine, it’s fine to eat!
