Just a little baby update! She is growing so well and drinking 9 litres a day 🥛 😳 she’s brilliant at being tied up and when I moved her to another pen yesterday she led on the halter perfectly, as you can see I have now been declared “milk lady” and all hope of a nice photo swiftly gone out the window 😂 I can also say she is just like her mum quiet, but bolshy when it’s food time 😂😂

Ash started cutting round the fields at the end of last week and tomorrow is hedge cutting season! I’ll make sure he takes some photos and videos 🚜
Here is our other 6610 on the tear cutter.
The wheel of the year is swiftly moving on and the autumn jobs slowly filling up the diary 📔
my favourite time of the year is coming ☺️ 🍂 as we (finally!) say goodbye to August! 👋

We’ve certainly had some rain now! 🌧️ keeping these bedded and dry is a task and a half, but my two pet hates are dirty feeders and unbedded calves, if you want happy healthy calves the feeders have to be immaculate inside along with the mixer and they have to be bedded well, I’m not saying I never get an ill calf it’s part and parcel of it, but it lessens the risks of scour, navel Ill, joint ill etc.
calf corner is my happy place ☺️ even if someday im soaked through at feeding time 🌧️ 🤣 I can guarantee if it’s gonna rain it’ll rain at feeding time!
