Absolute Banger on The Tasting Counter this weekend !! One of Many !! If you like Burgundian Chardonnay you will ❤️ This !
FMC officially stands for ‘Forrester Meinert Chenin’, recognising the collaboration between Ken Forrester and w**emaker Martin Meinert, though it is often colloquially referred to as “F*cking Marvellous Chenin”. ( It’s certainly earned that nickname ! )
Sourced from low-yielding, old bush vines planted in 1974, this Chenin is fermented in new French oak 400 litre barrels imparting well-integrated honeyed spice. A portion of botrytis is always present in the blend, giving notes of marmalade and saffron. Following fermentation, the w**e is matured in barrel on its lees for 12 months to round out its texture.
Expect complex notes of pineapple, lemon, apricot, and vanilla. Great with richer seafood dishes or curries
At £55 single bottle and £45 Mix 6 , this might be the best Chenin blanc you’ll ever drink ! It’d look great on the Christmas Dinner Table , or be the perfect gift for that someone special !!!
