Harvest Season • As the days begin to shorten and the grapes continue to ripen, there is a real sense of anticipation across the estate.

September marks one of the most exciting times of the year at Silverhand Estate, with harvest just around the corner.

From monitoring grape development to preparing the vineyard for the busy weeks ahead, there is plenty happening behind the scenes as we get ready for one of the most important moments in the winemaking calendar.

Ready for the show ring • Meet Poppy, one of the two Kentish Romney sheep chosen by our shepherdess Annabel to represent Silverhand Estate at this year's Edenbridge & Oxted Agricultural Show.

Annabel selects for three things: condition, character and breed characteristics, and Poppy has all three, earning her place in the ring alongside her twin sister Violet.

With centuries of heritage woven into our landscape, the Kentish Romney is a local breed that we are proud to graze on our 900-acre estate as part of our sustainable farming ethos.
