At The Crown & Thistle, your Christmas get together doesn’t mean being stuck with three courses chosen months in advance. You can enjoy our full Thai menu, just as you normally would. 🎄

Get your brownie points by booking early, take one more job off the list and avoid the last minute scramble for somewhere decent.

A farewell to Lauren aka Ralph ❤️
Waitress ➡️ Teacher

Lauren joined us as a wee 16 year old for her very first job, starting as a waitress.

Fast forward a few years and she’s now a fully qualified teacher! It’s been such a pleasure watching her grow up and become the confident young woman she is today.

Always reliable, always willing to help and our brilliant blackboard writer, not to mention her uncanny knowledge of everything happening around the village! 😂

We’re sad to see Ralph leave us, but incredibly proud of everything she’s achieved.

Thank you for all the years, Lauren. You’ll be missed, but we know you’ll make an amazing teacher. ❤️

🚂 STEAM UP IS BACK! 🚂

Saturday 26th September | 10am–4pm

The village comes alive for another Steam Up and it’s shaping up to be a proper good old-fashioned day out.

Think steam engines, classic cars, steam punk, stalls, a fun fair, morris men dancing, b**r, cake and plenty of village loveliness. The sort of day where you wander about, have a nose at everything, eat something delicious and probably end up staying longer than you planned!

And of course, we’ll be open all day with food on the go, including freshly cooked noodles and a good old hog roast. 🍜🐷

Bring the family, bring your friends and come and enjoy a bit of proper village fun.

What we’ve been up to this week at The Crown & Thistle, Great Chesterford 👇

✨Working with a brewery to create our very own lager🍺 👀

✨Showing the football & welcoming plenty of familiar faces through the doors⚽️

✨30 takeaway pizzas flew out of the kitchen at lunchtime yesterday for local businesses- thanks for keeping us busy!

✨Tons of freshly cooked Thai dishes served by our kitchen team- you guys have been hungry this week 💛

✨Cellars stocked, b**r lines cleaned & barrels changed

✨Food deliveries checked in & shelves restocked

✨Keeping the garden looking its best in this heat despite the hosepipe ban 🙄🍃

✨Planning upcoming events, live music and promotions

✨Catching up with regulars & welcoming lots of new faces.

❤️ Another week of doing what we love – feeding people, pouring pints and keeping the pub running.
