Waterloo Cottage Farm

Waterloo Cottage Farm Regenerative Farm, 1 mile south of Market Harborough. 100% grass fed Highland cattle & sheep. Order t The bacon is dry cured and smoked on site.

Regenerative, sustainable, ethical are all terms used to describe farming that is working with nature. Angus and Kirsty's farm, shop and community and forest gardens explore how to grow their animals and plants, keeping them healthy and displaying their natural behaviours. The Highland cattle are mob and bale grazed on pesticide free pasture and haylage. There is a hierarchy that needs to be respe

cted, with eldest cows (grandmothers and mothers) running the fold and offspring being allowed to graze with their mothers. The sheep are 100% pasture fed with a couple of free range pigs roaming behind the shop. No antibiotics, completely free range, slow grown and care given to what they eat to enhance the flavour and nutritional content of the meat. There is a selection of ready meals and hot smoked products, a small selection of cheese, wine and beer. Katie is the soup queen and cooks a great soup each week. Outside we have a well established Community Garden, come and talk to us if you would like to join in. A Forest Garden was planted in Summer 2022, under the careful eye of Teri, we are exploring what plants grow naturally outside that are of nutritional value to us and able to thrive in our gardens. this includes fruit and nut trees, shrubs, herbs and perennial vegetables.

💦Our fridges are working very hard to keep cool. When we walk in and out to serve customers it puts more pressure on them. 💦To reduce their stress we have shortened our open hours for this week. We hope you understand 🤞🙏

A restful Sunday for some. For those farming it can be never ending. Angus has checked his cattle out in the fields and taken some great footage of two new Highland calves born outside. Up and walking with the herd immediately. Now he is out under his new (well actually quite old, but, in great condition) farm truck. He is putting on a towbar, so, that he can pull the cattle trailer.
