From Wednesday 26th August, our kitchen and bar will be back to our usual opening hours.

Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding while we’ve been running our reduced August kitchen hours. ❤️

🎶 BLACKWATER SUNSET – VILLAGE SESSIONS 🎶

Join us on Sunday 27th September from 4pm for an afternoon of live music at The Chequers. 🎸🍻

Our Village Sessions are all about celebrating the musical and creative talent we have right here in our local community and surrounding villages. ❤️

We’ll have a selection of invited local performers playing throughout the afternoon, with a mixture of their own original material and some favourite covers you’ll know and love. 🎤🎵

Come along, grab a drink, settle in and enjoy some great live music and great company in the atmosphere of your friendly village pub. 🍺🎶

Celebrating 100 Years of Colchester Morris! 🖤❤️💛

This year Colchester Morris celebrates its 100th anniversary, and we're pleased to be hosting them here at The Chequers. Join us from 8pm on Friday 14th August for an evening of traditional Morris dancing, music and community. Everyone is welcome – come along, grab a drink and help celebrate 100 years of keeping this wonderful tradition alive.
