This was a few days ago and i swear im only just over it 😂

Quality first, always even if it means throwing out 5 hours of work and 40L of tea 🫠🫠🫠

Had an issue with the glycol chiller where it somehow managed to leak into the brew kettle so whole batch had to go 🫣

Not a mistake that’ll be made again for SURE

You bought it for the mushroom.

You bought it for the Lion’s Mane on the front. Fair enough — that’s the whole pitch.

Here’s the bit that doesn’t make the packaging: Lion’s Mane doesn’t carry an authorised calm or focus claim in the UK.

Can’t legally say it. Neither can ashwagandha, Bacopa, most of the trendy stuff.

So look lower on the ingredients list. There’s usually a B-vitamin stack — B6, B12, niacin. Those carry the actual authorised claims. “Reduces tiredness and fatigue” is real regulatory wording, and it’s the vitamin’s, not the mushroom’s.

You bought the story. The vitamin’s footing the legal bill.

We use Lion’s Mane too. We just describe it — dose, source, method — instead of borrowing a claim it’s not allowed to have.

That “focus” claim isn’t from what you think.

Quick one. That trendy focus or calm drink — the one with Lion’s Mane or ashwagandha on the front?

Neither ingredient has an authorised claim for focus or calm in the UK. Legally, a brand can’t say a mushroom will calm you down.

So if the can gets away with an energy or mood claim anyway, check the small print. It’s almost always B vitamins doing that job — B6, B12, thiamine carry real authorised wording, things like “reduces tiredness and fatigue.”

The botanical sells the story. The vitamin signs the paperwork.

Sol Mate has real Lion’s Mane in it — Mogo Farms, Derbyshire, dosed and on the can. We just tell you what it is, not what we’re not allowed to say it does

Pick up any “calm” or “focus” drink with Lion’s Mane, ashwagandha, whatever adaptogen’s trending. Now check what claim they’re actually allowed to make.
In the UK, most of those trendy botanicals don’t have an authorised health claim — not for calm, not for focus, not for stress. The ASA’s banned ads for saying exactly that.
So how do these brands make an energy or mood claim at all? B vitamins. Thiamine, B6, B12 — these carry real authorised wording: “reduces tiredness and fatigue,” “supports normal psychological function.” Hit 15% of your daily value and legally, you can print that.
The mushroom’s on the label for the story. The vitamin’s doing the legal work.
We put Lion’s Mane in Sol Mate too — dosed, sourced, on the can. We just don’t attach a claim to it we’re not allowed to make.

It’s bin a long journey, 6 years ago I had an idea and 18 months ago I truly started working towards it after getting (admittedly) quite distracted 😂

Here’s to the future 🫡

Chase your dreams you might make some really good tea 🥰

You’ll never find added vitamins in Sol Mate. Here’s why.

Almost every energy drink runs the same play: hit 15% of your recommended daily vitamin intake, and legally, a brand can print “reduces tiredness and fatigue” on the can. True claim — but mostly meaningless if you already eat properly, since B vitamins are water-soluble. Your body keeps what it needs and flushes the rest. (That neon yellow p*e after a multivitamin isn’t it working hard — it’s your body saying it didn’t need that much.)

Some brands go further: “eliminates stress,” “boosts immunity,” “clears brain fog.” None of that is an authorised claim in the UK — the ASA’s been banning ads for saying it.

The NHS’s own advice: a balanced diet already covers most people.

So we left the vitamin stack out. Not to cut costs — for most people, it simply wouldn’t do anything.

Vegan, pregnant, over 65, or on certain meds? Genuinely different — get checked, don’t guess from a can.

Everyone else: taste real whole botanicals. Brewed with intention not deception.
