We’re pleased to invite you to a Floatovoltaics Open Day, hosted in collaboration with Cranfield University, ScientiAg International, Achelous Energy Ltd, Dyson Farming Research and Hawes Associates.
🗓 Wednesday 13th May
⏰ 9:30am – 2:00pm
This event will provide a practical introduction to floating solar technology and how it can be optimised for on-farm use.
We’ll be sharing insights from our own floating solar installation on our irrigation reservoir and how we balance that production with our usage across our farming and packhouse operation. The day will include a tour of the system, alongside a look at the metering and data we use to monitor performance and manage output.
We’re also delighted to be joined by:
Dr Jerry Knox (Cranfield University) – presenting research into floatovoltaics and the optimisation model developed in partnership with Pollybell Farms and Dyson Farming Research
Andrew Hawes (Hawes Associates) - providing a geotechnical engineer's perspective on incorporating floating solar into reservoir design and construction
Robbie Gawthrop (East Green Energy Ltd) – sharing experience from recent floating solar projects, from concept through to commissioning, and how the technology has evolved
This open day is designed for farmers, advisors, irrigation specialists, environmental organisations and anyone interested in the role of renewable energy in agriculture.
If you’re exploring ways to integrate energy generation with water management, this will be a valuable and practical session.
