Albury Organic Vineyard is situated on the southern slopes of the North Downs in the beautiful Surrey Hills, just outside Guildford on the A25 towards Dorking. Vineyard tours run between May and September each year (book online at www.alburyvineyard.com)

The vines are the traditional Champagne varietals of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier as well as some Seyval and Pinot Gris. We produce

still and sparkling wine of the highest quality; our wines have now won numerous international awards and are served at some of the country's best restaurants. We are committed to producing organic fruit without the use of chemicals such as herbicides and fungicides. Whilst copper and sulphur are permitted in organic vineyards we minimise their use. We also use compost teas, which improve the biology of the soil and biodynamic preparations. We believe that this approach, encouraging the natural biology of the land, will produce premium fruit and therefore great wine. The vineyard is privately owned by Nick Wenman who lives in Albury near to the vineyard. It is managed by Alex Valsecchi who until recently was at at RHS Wisley responsible for the Orchard, Nursery, Model Fruit Area and the Vineyard. Alex has extensive experience in Vineyard Management having created the vineyard at Wisley following several years practical experience working on vineyards in New Zealand.

Bank Holiday weekend at Albury Vineyard 🥂🌿

We’re open Saturday, Sunday & Monday, 11am–5pm, so come and spend the long weekend with us in the Surrey Hills.

Saturday & Sunday might be looking a little soggy, but don’t let that put you off!

Our lovely indoor tasting room and covered patio will be open, with plenty of shelter for a relaxed glass of w**e and a delicious cheese and charcuterie selection.

Bank Holiday Monday is looking much brighter ☀️ and we’ll be celebrating with live music in the vineyard with emily and pizza The Pizza Oven 🍕🎶

Entry on Monday is free, but please register your interest so we have an idea of numbers (comment pizza and we’ll send you the link).

Rain or shine, there’s always a good reason to raise a glass at Albury 🥂

Harvest 2026 has officially begun! 🍇

Yes, we know it’s still August…

We’ve started with the Pinot Précoce at our Lansdowne vineyard - an early-ripening variety of Pinot Noir that’s always ahead of the game.

But after the heatwaves we’ve had this Summer, all the grapes are ripening earlier than we would usually expect.

Next up will be the Seyval Blanc at our main Albury vineyard, where we’re expecting picking will begin in the first week of September.

And that means we’ll soon need some extra pairs of hands!

Harvest is nearly here 🍇 Would you like to pick grapes with us?

What happens when w**e meets art in the vineyard? 🥂🎨🍇

Our latest Sip & Paint at Albury Vineyard was inspired by the vines themselves, with guests painting leaves, grapes and trailing vines while sipping Albury w**e in our tasting room overlooking the vines.

Led step-by-step by local artist Charlotte, it was a wonderfully relaxed afternoon of painting, w**e and creativity – and no previous experience was needed!

There’s only so much we can tell you about a visit to Albury… sometimes it’s better to hear it from someone who’s experienced it for themselves 🥂🌿

An update from the vineyard 🍇

The grapes are turning from red to green - this process is called ‘veraison’ and it means we’re getting close to harvest time!

Veraison started earlier than usual this year due to the hot weather, which means we now plan to start picking at the beginning of September.

We welcome volunteers! If you’d like to get involved, just comment ‘harvest’ and we’ll send the details straight to your DMs.

A w**e worth waiting for… 🍾

Our 2019 Biodynamic Wild Ferment has been more than six years in the making, but its story started with just a few buckets of Pinot Meunier grapes.

At Albury Vineyard we grow our vines biodynamically, which means working closely with nature to encourage healthy soils, biodiversity and a balanced vineyard. And for this particular w**e, we take that philosophy into the w**ery too.

Instead of adding commercial yeast to start fermentation, we make a pied de cuve. Think of it a little like a sourdough starter for w**e - we crush freshly picked grapes by hand and let the wild yeasts naturally present on them get to work.

That starter then kick-starts the fermentation of the w**e, which for the 2019 vintage took place in our concrete egg – something you still don’t see very often in English w**emaking.

Then came the hardest part… waiting.

After bottling, the w**e spent more than six years ageing on its lees, slowly developing the texture, depth and character we were looking for.

The result? A very limited release of 100% biodynamic Pinot Meunier sparkling w**e, with aromas of quince and melon, beautifully balanced fruit and that classic zippy acidity we love.

And if you were one of our harvest volunteers back in 2019, you may even have helped start its journey 🍇🥂

Behind the scenes filming for Oz and Tom’s English W**e Heroes…

This week we welcomed Oz Clarke and Tom Surgey to Albury as they continue their mission to explore the UK’s best vineyards 🌿🍇

They’d come to see how the 2026 harvest is shaping up and chat about what weeks of hot, dry weather have meant for the vines.

Naturally, the moment we said “It hasn’t rained for weeks…” the heavens opened 🌧️😂

Because, well… Britain.

But the sun quickly reappeared and the conversation continued over a glass of our newly released Biodynamic Wild Ferment 2019. Made from 100% Pinot Meunier and fermented in a concrete egg, it’s one of our most distinctive w**es yet… and we’re pleased to report it got a very enthusiastic thumbs up 🥂
