Junior Elysian Farmers starts this September – sign up is NOW OPEN!

JEF is our hands-on farm and animal programme for children aged 6-12, based at Elysian, Shamley Green, Surrey.

Starting this September, JEF members can join either our Wednesday after-school group or Saturday morning group, spending regular time on the farm caring for and working with animals, learning practical countryside and farming skills, getting outdoors, building confidence and making friends.

All children joining JEF become annual JEF members. Membership is the gateway to the programme and includes much more than the regular weekly sessions, with additional JEF activities, opportunities, events and member benefits throughout the year.

If your child loves animals, being outdoors, learning by doing and getting properly involved in farm life, JEF is for them.

Thanks to funding from the Mental Health Improvement Fund, we recently welcomed local families to Shamley Green Farm for our free Family Wellbeing Days!

These funded sessions were designed to provide a safe, inclusive environment where families could connect with nature, interact with our animals, and build positive wellbeing together. By removing financial barriers, we were able to offer a peaceful space for parents, carers, and children to reduce stress, combat isolation, and enjoy meaningful time together.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make these mornings so impactful!

✔️ Experience in curriculum design, quality assurance and staff development

Are you searching for a teaching role that’s a little different?

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and creative SEN Teacher to join an innovative alternative therapeutic education setting, where animals, nature and outdoor learning are at the heart of the curriculum.

This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference to young people aged 11–17, using practical and experiential learning to help them develop both academically and personally.

We’re recruiting for an LSA (Learning Support Assistant) to join our sites across Surrey & Hampshire, start dates September 2026 and January 2027.

Our roles are hands-on and based in therapeutic outdoor environments, where animals and nature are part of the learning.
We’re looking for people who:
* Have experience working with children and young people
* Are practical, grounded, and ready to get stuck in
* Are open to therapeutic/alternative education approaches
* Can work in dynamic, sometimes challenging settings

If you’re looking for something different from a traditional setting, this could be a great fit.

Applicants must be comfortable with all animals, happy working outdoors in all weathers, live within an hour, and be highly resilient.
