Great comfort food doesn’t need overcomplicating...
It just needs the right ingredients and proper care...

For one night only, one of our regualr customers transformed his little cottage kicthen into
"Ristorante il Castello di Rishworth"

Serving up this hearty,
unpretentious comfort food driven by quality ingredients...

To start:
- Creamy Garlic Mushrooms
Served sizzling in a cast-iron skillet alongside olive oil-drizzled toasted crostini for that classic rustic bistro look 😉

The main:
- Beef and Pork Meatballs,
pan-seared for a deep crust, then braised in a rich tomato sauce and served over linguine with fresh Parmesan.

With everything picked up fresh in the shop this morning...
From the bread to the pasta, the mince,
and even the cream for the garlic mushrooms!

What do you on your day off?

This is a question we’re constantly asked, well here it is. When butchering and farming is your passion, virtually every minute is consumed. Luckily all the family shares the passion, so this is it, a rare occasion when everyone if free on the same day the rest of the family join Millie and myself for a day out in Bakewell, not the usual tourist visit though but a day at the livestock market, purchasing the best produce for the shop from some of the best producers in the country.
Of course they day has to commence with an unbeatable ‘market breakfast’

Beautiful piece of pork belly prepared fresh this morning for one of our customers,
who has gone on to roll this amazing Porchetta...

*We even gave him the butchers string so he could roll and tie it himself back at home*

So if you ever want something special,
and you can't see it on display in the counter...
