Cherry Smoked Garlic from

Over the last three years we've tried using various woods to smoke garlic: oak, apple, pecan, hickory, etc., but we always return to cherry wood. It imparts a lovely, light, sweet and fruity smoke which really complements the garlic. For the same reason, we also use cherry wood to smoke our jalapeños when we make chipotles.
On a sort of related note, a friend once said that if your friends don't like garlic, you should find new friends. We've never had to go that far, but must admit it would be a tough call if it ever happened!
